I'm just curious but what would a baby do with frankincense and myrrh? And even gold lol? Were the wise men really giving those gifts to Mary and Joseph or were they planning on storing them away for Jesus when He got older? Furthermore I sort of know what frankincense is, but what is myrrh used for? I have no idea what that is and yes it just recently occurred to me lol

Babies don't remain babies forever. And the magi came to present their gifts to a divine King, since while they were presenting them, they also worshipped.

Whether they realized it or not, those gifts had spiritual significance for Christ -- gold for the King of Israel, frankincense for the great High Priest, and myrrh for the Lamb of God.
