A TikTok creator from Birmingham, England, who once defended Islam to more than 100,000 followers, is now publicly testifying that he has given his life to Jesus Christ. Kieos said his journey away from Islam was not sudden, but grew out of theological questions he could not ignore, a deep dissatisfaction with a rule-based view of God, and three consecutive dreams about Jesus that he came to see as a sign to look seriously into Christianity.
Kieos said that while he had once found Islam intellectually compelling, over time there were “many things” he “couldn’t logically defend,” even while still defending them publicly online. He also said that after voicing doubts, he faced slander, insults, and death threats rather than real answers. Eventually, he said he realized he had been approaching God as a checklist of duties instead of a relationship, and that this new understanding changed everything. “For a long time I felt like I was trying to earn God’s love,” he said, but now he feels open to receive it.
Now Kieos says he is “100% open” and that in his heart he has given his life to Christ. He said praying to God in his own language “from my heart” has changed everything, and that despite the backlash, he has no regrets about speaking honestly.
