I feel there is a need of a regeneration and revival of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the saints of God. We have become complacent and comfortable in our present conditions. Many of us are indifferent to social, economic, legal, political, and spiritual issues in the world. We have fell into a deep sleep and have grieved the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a consuming and moving fire. He was sent here to comfort the believer, counsel the believer, convict the sinner and believer, convert the sinner, sanctify the believer, inspire the believer, reveal to the believer, and to EMPOWER the believer. His purpose is to cause the people of God to continue the work of Christ and fulfill their divine purpose. We have the religious sacrements, orders, mandates, and guidelines down packed but we have forgotten about our first love and the reason why we were called to salvation! God called us to salvation, sent the Holy Spirit to sanctify us and make us holy and then gave us power in Jesus to peform works, miracles, signs, and wonders. This instruments are used to glorify God, uplift Jesus, bring unbelievers to salvation and show forth the power of the name of Jesus. Many of us are not walking in our purpose or fullfilling the mandate of Jesus Christ. The fruit is that the world is in a state of turmoil and tumult and we are sitting in the church lukewarm and dead. But, there is hope to the remnant of those who set themselves ablaze with the gospel of Christ and the zeal of God. God is notgoing to forsake the righteous and those that seek Him. He is going to give us another touch church by the Holy Spirit! This touch will be lasting and will burn until the return of Christ so we can complete his mandate. We wonder why there has been a wave of renewal of the Holy Spirit in the Roman Catholic church, Lutheran Church, Episcopal Church and other denominations not usually related to fire and zeal it is because God is raising up a generation of those that will seek and obey Him. With this new touch of the Holy Spirit salvation will begin to rise, sanctification and holiness shall be preached and lived, fruit of the Holy Spirit will be developed and lived, gifts of the Holy Spirit will begin to flourish, and religious people will get angry and oppressive. We are undergoing not a second Pentecost, Latter rain, or charismatic renewal we are getting ready to enter a regenration of the Holy Spirit and the generation that will usher in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:8 "8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Joel 2:28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."

James 5:7-8 ""Be patient therefore, brethern, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rains."

Deuteronomy 11:14 "That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil."

Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

Ezekiel 36:25-27 "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

We have a powerless christianity of crafty arguments... The opposite of the early church. And yet we are satisfied with our sunday mornings, and leaving it all as a one day religion, which doesn't transform us, but simply gives us a few rules by which we must live.

God has his remnant, his people, and he is preparing a people that would walk in his power and life, and give all for him. We must become children again. We must truly be discipled and learn the character of Christ so that we might truly carry his glory.

We must seek to walk as he walked, to be as he is, holy as he is holy!

Blessings to you, Ian! Good to hear someone who believes in the power of the Spirit and longs for holiness! :)

Its more than just denominationalism or doctrine based it is a true lifestyle. I am and grew up holiness-pentecostal and they taught us 3 things:
1. Salvation in Jesus alone
2. Sanctification and holiness by the Holy Spirit
3. Showing forth inward and outward evidence of the Holy Spirit
These three things I take with me everywhere. We need to walk in the fullness of Christ and His word and not just doctrines set by man!

True Pentecostalism is not a movement or revival it is a lifestyle. Growing up in a holiness-pentecostal church we were and are taught holiness and sanctification in Jesus Christ by the work of the Holy Ghost! Hebrews 12:14 declares that without holiness no man shall see the Lord. God did not call us to salvation to take his grace lightly but to live a holy life and change and turn from our wicked ways into righteousness. The leaders of the movement preached love, salvation in Jesus alone, holiness, and showing forth an inward and outward evidence of the faith you say you have! The Azusa Street revivals cross racial and social boundaries by bringing several races together from different social classes and the Holy Spirit fell upon them. God ordains and desires for all his children to come together in Jesus' name and uplift and exalt him so that he can draw men unto himself.

Amen! It is not about 'believing in Jesus' in the sense of mere belief, but actually walking in his power!
