You are leaning to your own accomplishments in the flesh, which is very dangerous. You being a "preacher 40 plus years" does not exempt you from deception if you reject truth. Then, Gog/Magog, the muslim + Russia attack on Israel takes place.

Then, right after the destruction of Gog’s armies, the little horn person arrives in the middle east, with a EU army, on the premise of securing peace in the region.
Daniel 9:26 calls him the prince that shall come.

The Jews (of Judaism) will mistakenly think he is their long awaited King of Israel messiah. The false prophet will anoint him - the King of Israel. As such, he becomes the Antichrist.

First act on his agenda will be to confirm (Daniel 9:27) the Mt. Sinai covenant by making a big speech on the temple mount, broadcast worldwide. And the 7 years begins.

Peace and safety mindset among the peoples of the world, follows - deluded into thinking the messianic age has begun.

About three years into the 7 years, the Antichrist does the unthinkable, as Satan inspires/enters him. He goes into the temple (built right after the Gog/Magog event), sits, claims to have achieved God-hood. Revealing himself as the man of sin (2Thessalonians2:4).

His audacious act draws God’s anger, and the Jews resentment (end of him being their king). God moves persons to assassinate him. Ezekiel 28:1-10.

Mortally wounded, his soul goes to hell, where he is mocked. Isaiah 14:16.

God in disdain for the person, because he is a Jew who’s Satan inspired actions destroys his land and his people, returns his soul back to his body, laying in its casket. Isaiah 14:18-20.

On his way back to life, the spirit of the garden of Eden serpent beast, which acted on behalf of Satan to get Adam and Eve to sin, is allowed to come out of the bottomless pit, to enter his soul. Thus, the person becomes the beast (named so - by being instilled by the spirit of the serpent beast) king of Revelation.

The world will be agasped, at his sitting up in his casket, as he declares victory over death, to verify his claim of having achieved God-hood. The ten EU leaders, overwhelmed by the events, present him their kingdom to be ruler over. Revelation 17:18

The false prophet has a statue image made of him and places it on the temple mount - as the abomination of desolation. And the great tribulation period begins, as his followers, take his name, mark, on their right hand or forehead, and the 666 number of his name, in order to buy or sell, global law.

A war in the second heaven then takes place, Revelation 12:9-11, and Michael and his angels cast Satan and his angels down to earth.

Anti-Christ means "instead of" or "in place of" Christ (as well as "against Christ"). He sits in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

In the N.T., unless stated otherwise, the temple of the God is the professing church. So, the anti-Christ sits in the professing church, proclaiming himself to be God. There is one person who does this - whoever happens to be in the office of "pope", at the time. One of his titles of blasphemy is "Vicar of Christ", which means "In Place of Christ" (i.e. Anti-Christ). He is hiding in plain sight, and has been for a very long time.

The "pope" rose to power after the fall of the Roman Empire, which fits in with Daniel's "little horn".

He conquered three of the ten kingdoms that arose from the break-up of the Western Roman Empire.

He has numerous titles of blasphemy (Holy Father, Vicar of Christ, Rector Orbis, King of Kings, Lord of lords and Pontifex Maximus).

He has changed times and seasons: he changed days from sunset to sunset, to midnight to midnight; he changed the calendar; he switched from Passover to the pagan festival of Easter, etc..

He has introduced (and mandated) a huge number of anti-Christian false teachings: transubstantiation (worshipping and eating one's "god", in the form of a sun-shaped wafer, turned into that "god", a la Mithraism); veneration of relics; praying to "saints"; a mediatorial priesthood; many pagan festival days renamed into "holy days"; Mary as "Queen of Heaven" (the title of a pagan goddess, from the O.T.); Mary as "mediatrix"; Mary as "co-redemptrix"; supererogation; purgatory, etc, etc..

A woman holding out a cup to the nations (mentioned in Revelation) is an official symbol of his organisation (Roman Catholicism).

But that doesn't mean they were right.

Some of them were amillennialists and we know that was a "swing and a miss".
