Hal Lindsey's prediction of not later than 1988 was based on 1948 + 40 years as a generation.
Using 1948 as the base year - was based on Israel being a nation again in the land took place in 1948. And the 40 years as the number of years Israel spent in the wilderness in the exodus from Egypt.
Using 1948 as the base year and 70 years as a generation did not work either. 1948 +70 years/generation =2018 as the not later than year for Jesus's return. Did not happen.
Using 1967 as the base year and 70 years as a generation, 1967 +70 years/generation = 2037 as the not later than year for Jesus's return. Those are the correct numbers.
These are the only verses in the bible that mention the term antichrist that don't seam to match the description in the OP.
- 1 John 2:18: "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."
- 1 John 2:22: "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."
- 1 John 4:3: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
- 2 John 1:7: "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."
I know about the bases for the errant speculations that have passed.
When I was young-in-the-faith (many years ago), I also surmised that 2037 might be when Jesus returns; but it's just speculation.

This is a man by the name of Donald J Trump proclaiming himself to be God. He hasn't stood in a physical temple, but he has taken up residence in the hearts, minds, souls, spirits of a people proclaiming to be Christians ....the temple of God.
Take note... Donald Trump said, "I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution."
Those are things that ONLY DEFINE JESUS CHRIST!!!!! I will NEVER bow to that man!!

No, Trump was not proclaiming himself to be God in that video. Trump is not the Antichrist person.
I remember back when Obama was President, some people were thinking that he was the Antichrist.
The first thing on the checklist to determine if the person is the Antichrist is that he must be a Jew. In Judaism, a person is a Jew if their mother is a Jew - not their father. Their father does not have to be a Jew.

Those are incorrect. A generation in proper context is all the people alive during certain events so that they are witnesses to all the events. It;'s not a generation/lifespan but people alive to witnesses things happening. That's why all the 40 year type interpretations have always been wrong. It's not about finding out what future year the events happen but when the events begin to happen, you will know the other events will follow and that generation of people at that time will witness the second coming.
What does that have to do with the topic of this thread ?

Right. There's no individual Antichrist mentioned there anywhere. John taught that there are many antichrists and that anyone who denies Christ is an antichrist.

Luke 21:29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
The parable in Luke 21:29-30 (see also Matthew 24:32-33 and Mark 13:28-29) simply represents how soon Jesus's coming will be "when you see these things happening". So, He was saying "when you see these things happening", then His return will be as near as summer is near when the leaves on a fig tree and all the other trees are starting to bud. Jesus is not trying to represent anything in particular with the fig tree in that parable because He also mentioned "all the trees". He's simply giving an illustration of how soon His return and the ushering in of the kingdom of God will be "when you see these things happening". There's no reason to read any more into it than that.
