Anyone else?

I have considered myself a Christian for a long time. To make a long story short I am very analytical, suffer from OCD/anxiety which is a tough combination with wanting certainity. I spend day and night in my head "trying" and "wanting" to have that assurance that so many seem to have but it is not in my genetic wiring I suppose. It seems that it is much more "hoping" in my head rather then "knowing" One of my favorite apologist has described himself similar to myself...none the less it's a difficult path.I won't even get into the different "sides" of Christianity who adamantly claim the doctrine they subscribe to is correct, Calvinists, arminian, etc..none the less I suppose I am inquiring to see if anyone can relate.

A fellow gave his testimony at our men's breakfast this last Saturday. He called himself "perfectionist/idealist/OCD", and went on to describe his life. I related totally, I too am the same. Add to that Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and yes, I can relate! Anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, it's not easy.

At the end of the day . . . I see this as the corruption of the flesh on steroids, to be overcome by faith just like everyone else. Maybe a bit more struggle it seems? ;-)

It's up and down generally speaking, but for the most part, I recognize that these issues are all flesh, and spirit overcomes flesh by faith in God's promises, which are many, assuring me He will not ever let me go.

The mind race can be shut down by intentionally filling the mind with other things. Darkness upon darkness upon darkness is banished by light.

I'd compare my mind sometimes to holding onto a slippery rock trying not to be thrown and crushed by some massive earthquake, while believing God's promise that He will not allow me to be moved.

To fully understand God's grace, this to me is the remedy.

Romans 5:1, with the same faith by which we are justified - Jesus is sufficient - by that same faith we have access to the grace in which we stand.

Trusting Jesus start to finish with no reliance - none! - upon the arm of flesh.

There's a song I just heard for the first time last week, Abide, "for the victories still to come, I depend on you". Yeah!!

I've learned that I must depend on God for every last thing.

nor even trust in such words , SEEING their men twisted it all unto them .
WELCOME to conf usion.
We should never have sat under those twisters of doctrine .
People cannot even read the bible and it dont even make much sense to them anymore .
Cause folks twisted what it plainly said into somet hing THEIR DOCTRINE tried to make it mean.
I FeeL heck of sorry for a lots of them folks .
BUT IN THE END they the ones who chose to sit under them clowns and money mong ers
who were always trying to please the ear and keep the money coming in .
NOW they being led to a false love , yes a false peace
AND IT WILL DAMN every last one of them too .
CAN WE PLEASE return to the bible NOW . let us just as children TRUST IN JESUS
ALL OF HIS WORDS . as well as the apostels . IT AINT nearly as hard to read and learn that bible
AS MEN MADE IT OUT TO BE . YOU would see PEACE RETURN . IF only folks would leave
them houses of a harlots love and return to CHRIST , return to this one simple mindset
right here , HEY IF ITS WRITTEN then its aboslute TRUTH .
Rather than always trying to omit something under the claim ITS NOT F OR US , JUST BELEIVE IT
and watch how peace would return . IF NOT , PREPARE TO BE LED TO THE BIG LIE and thus to damnation .

I have no idea if you are posting something to me, or just saying what you always say in your posts.

If you were sitting under false teaching, I'm glad you got out of it. If you need to return to the Bible, yes, do so. And truly, do not be deceived by the devil's lies!
