Are you being deceived? Sorry for the wrong quote above.

The devil deceived Eve and mankind was forever effected. The same thing has been going on throughout all generations.

What is the biggest deception that is still being propagated today. It is the simple word 'this'. When used in normal conversation it means close by or at hand. When Jesus said 'this generation' the devil says that Jesus was speaking of a future generation.

Indeed, most people believe 'this' refers to something future.

God does not want us to be deceived.

Be blessed.

Matt 24:29-36
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
KJV

Jesus said that WHEN you see these signs, that THIS generation, in which you see the signs, shall NOT pass away till all be fulfilled.
The fig tree is natural Israel which returned and began to grow to became a nation again in 1948 subtract it from 2018 and you get 70 yrs. a generation. Purim, Tabernacles and Passover are always on the 14th &15th of their Jewish month. So pay close attention to 2014 & 2015 being mid tribulation. Purim is when God's people who were supposed to be destroyed, were saved and the ungodly were destroyed in the exact way they had had planned to destroy God's people.
In case you haven't noticed all the distress you see in the world is TRIBULATION. God is not going to come down and tell us it is time for the earth's tribulation.... He shows us with signs fires, floods, deadly animals, deadly pestilences and disease, famine, crop failure, insect invasions, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, sunames, wars, men of reprobate minds, heat, cold, etc... for He is a Host of armies and just as the 10 plagues of ungodly Egypt were all natural as we know, THAT IS JUDGMENTS OF GOD for He uses His Creation for His ACTS OF GOD upon ungodly man. Wake up People!!!
Read Psalms 111- 2011 Through Psalms 117-2017 having 114-2014 EARTHQUAKE in Jerusalem according to scripture Psalms 114 & 115-2015 being mid way between the 7 yr. period or Hallelujah Psalms
All heaven and earth is being shaken by God and we shall see who shall remain standing. Shaken means in an uproar, many falling away from their faith in God putting their faith in MAN to help and save them, many being exposed of their evil deeds, nations own against their own nations rulers, terror on every side, families against families, perversions such as sodomites marring each other and even allowed as ROLE MODELS for innocent adopted children.. DISGUSTING!!!! Mass murder by abortions every minute saying they are not human beings!
For if the generation that Jesus spoke of had taken place in 70 ad only and not for a future time as well at his return.. then we have to be in the new heaven and earth which we can see, we are NOT!

The temple was torn down for one reason only... so that the focus could now be on the temple in Christ built without human hands. A spiritual temple Not made OF men, but BY GOD for it is not the natural Jew of the flesh that is the promised heir.. it is to all who are spiritual Jews is Christ who are circumcised in heart, not flesh and they are Jews and Gentiles the one new man in Christ Jesus. Only 7,000 OT saints shall be saved by grace. 1Kings 19:18, Romans 11:4, Rev 11:13, who die in the earthquake just before the birth of the sons of God in Christ, to heavenly Jerusalem our mother Rev.12:5.
Heb 9:8-11
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
KJV
Heb 8:1-2
8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
KJV

The vast majority of mankind is being deceived, with only a "few" truly not being mislead, for Jesus said: "Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."(Matt 7:13, 14)

Most are unwilling to respond to the "good news of the kingdom" and are therefore deluded.(Matt 24:14) Why ? The apostle Paul wrote that "the good news we (true Christians) declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."(2 Cor 4:3, 4)

There are three entities that Satan is specifically using to manipulate mankind, (1) false religion, (2) politics, (3) greedy commerce. The Bible book of Revelation openly exposes all three. At Revelation 17, it unveils a "great harlot....with whom the kings of the earth (politics) committed fornication, whereas those who inhabit the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication."(Rev 17:1, 2)

This "great harlot" is given a name - Babylon the Great.(Rev 17:5) What clues help to identify this "harlot" that has made almost everyone on the earth "drunk with the wine of her fornication" ? Examining her prototype, ancient Babylon, is like a key that unlocks a door. What was ancient Babylon noted for ?

Jeremiah 50:2 says: "Tell it among the nations and publish it. And lift up a signal; publish it. Hide nothing, O men. Say, ‘Babylon has been captured. Bel (part of the original Sumerian triad of deities) has been put to shame. Mer´o·dach (most important Babylonian god) has become terrified. Her images (of Merodach) have been put to shame. Her dungy idols have become terrified.’ "

And at Ezekiel 21, it says: "For the king of Babylon (king Nebuchadnezzar) stood still at the crossways, at the head of the two ways, in order to resort to divination. He has shaken the arrows. He has asked by means of the teraphim (a small god that can be carried); he has looked into the liver. In his right hand the divination proved to be for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open one’s mouth for a slaying, to raise the sound in an alarm signal, to set battering rams against gates, to throw up a siege rampart, to build a siege wall."(Eze 21:21, 22)

And at Isaiah 47, it says: "Stand still, now, with your spells and with the abundance of your sorceries, in which you have toiled from your youth; that perhaps you might be able to benefit, that perhaps you might strike people with awe. You have grown weary with the multitude of your counselors. Let them stand up, now, and save you, the worshipers of the heavens (astrology), the lookers at the stars, those giving out knowledge at the new moons concerning the things that will come upon you."(Isa 47:12)

An ancient cuneiform inscription noted that in ancient Babylon there were 53 temples to their chief gods, 55 chapels to Marduk (their chief god), 300 chapels to earthly deities, 600 for heavenly ones, some 180 altars to the fertility goddess Ishtar alone. Hence, ancient Baylon was rife with false religion, and provides what is needed to identify Babylon the Great, as the world empire of false religion. Thus almost everyone around the earth is infected to some extent, being drunk with "the wine of the anger of her fornication."(Rev 14:8)

The churches of Christendom are estimated as being some 41,000 different denominations and sects, numbering 2.2 billion, Islam 1.6 billion and Hinduism 1 billion.(though Babylon the Great's "waters" or members [Rev 17:15] are "drying up", Rev 16:12 and in which 1.1 billion people are now professing to "no religious affiliation")

These have taught religious doctrines that are not in the Bible, such as the trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, Mary worship (Mariology), that all good people go to heaven, that the earth is to be burned up, involvement in the political arena, reincarnation, idol worship.

When Christ said these words, there is something that is made clear in any (to my knowledge) of our English translations. It is a tiny element of Greek called a particle, and the particle is called an. Check one out - you can see it in Greek interlinears; it resembles a comma or apostrophe but you'll rarely find any commentary on it.

The presence of an denotes uncertainty or, in this case, conditionality of the statement in which it is found, and as such is THE key to understanding this passage.

What Christ was saying was that "this generation" of Jews (the Jews of Israel whom He addressed) would see the signs He spoke of here IF a certain condition - which He did not state in this passage but made clear elsewhere - was met. That condition was not met, thus the generation to whom He spoke did not see His words fulfilled as He stated them.

This does not preclude a future fulfillment of His words, however. The point is, He said exactly what He meant to say, as recorded in the Greek if not in our English translations.

I look back at some of my earlier comments with regrets (sorry Rocky)
I sometimes jump to conclusions without thinking it through (more about that in a minute)

It is my understanding that deception (in modern day) refers to people who do not believe in God nor His Son

I also feel that even though Christians make a lot of mistakes and errors and have some scandals , ultimately they are not deceived in the big picture (they have Christ and the important truth)

We can be deceived day to day on many "small things" , and we can sin accordingly , yet we are still Christians and ultimately saved.

What gets me "hot under the collar" is when ... "some christian groups" ... feel that .... "my christian group" .... is deceived (no salvation) because we have varying doctrines.

That's a fair point but what do you do when two (or more) devoutly Christ-professing groups - or even individuals - have contradictory gospels and even contradictory Christs, whose nature and work are also contradictory? BOTH can be wrong, but can both, in such cases, be ultimately saved? Wouldn't logic demand that at least one of them must be woefully deceived?
