Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations(discernings). - Romans 14:1

I was born again into a church with a wonderfully spiritual people. If I could go back in time I would have avoided the, “what’s wrong with the church” crowd, especially those of my generation. Such conversation was never pragmatic and only worked to destroy the church…

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. - Matthew 12:35-36

I am afraid that I must give account for my words spoken in the, “What’s wrong with the church crowd.” In which I am ashamed.

I do suspect that if you look around this forum you will find some who will tell you not only what is wrong but how to fix it. Hopefully each one of them is weeping as Jesus wept when he looked around him!

We all have moments even as Christians of which we are ashamed.

I guess when we look to what's wrong with the church today, we should look at ourselves first and repent.

Problem is, there are some very bad things wrong with some churches these day, things so bad, Christ himself would have no trouble speaking out against them.

Ephesians 5:11 ESV
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

And there are unfruitful works of darkness in some churches, especially these days.

Thank you sister. A lot of water under the bridge here. Actually in the flesh I am a great-grandfather. I am struggling to get to know the youngest as she was born when we were all locked down last year and visits were minimal. Now at 8 months old she smiles at me.

The 10 year old is my friend, but I cannot get down on the floor and play with him like I did with his father several years back. LOL. The one time I did get down on the floor like that with my great-grandson a few years ago, he loved it and so did I until I needed to get back up. Fortunately my son was there to help me. LOL

I really do want to help people here, but sometimes people don't want help. That and my often problematic short term memory causing me at times to get people mixed up and having to read and reread to get a clue as who is who is and what is what on some threads. God does help me sift through to find things when He has something for me to say. Sometimes I miss His direction.

Not everyone has favorable things to say about me all of the time. That was very hard to accept early on and still is at times. I believe that more than one person purposely avoids me for their own reasons.

Then someone like you comes along with words of encouragement, which I also need hear now and again. Thank you for that sister! What a mighty God we serve!

So what am I talking about here?

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. - 1 Corinthians 15:32
The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. - Matthew 23:1-4

Noting especially... "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."

The "What's wrong with the church crowd" ... Talk, gossip, accusations, speaking evil of church leaders... But they themselves will not help out with one of their fingers!!! (noting three explanation marks!!!)
