Vicious people!
This is the nature of the beasts that operate in people. Solomon wrote about this 1,000 years before Jesus was born that we were beasts and that we need to kill that beast nature within us:
"I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts." Ecc 3:18
"She [Wisdom] hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. Prov 9:2
It was not a possibility for man before Jesus. They were all waiting for the promised Messiah and then He came and they called Him Jesus. With Jesus in us, it is now possible to kill the old beasts that lead us back to sin repeatedly.
