Hope.
Isa 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
The beginning of this prophecy is filled with much sorrow, a people lost and torn. It speaks of following after fools who do not trust in the Lord.
They live under the wings of the Oppressor. The work is hard and yet no joy comes from their labour. woe is me.
They are scattered sheep, surrounded by wolves. They are dying like a plant with no water.
And in their hour of greatest darkness and despair, faintly, dimly, a ray of hope shines on them.
God has not cast us off forever. This is he of whom we seek. That which the scriptures spoke of.
This is the living water that once one has tasted will never thirst again.
Bless the Lord oh my soul, oh my soul
Worship his Holy Name
Sing like never before, oh my soul
I will worship His Holy name.
