Faith saves.
Grace saves.
How does God teach us that both must be present in order to be cleansed by the blood of Christ?
What sayeth the Scriptures?

Biblical Faith is confidence in spiritual things based upon the evidence, Hebrews 11:1

John 3:16,
- for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever  believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life

Hebrews 5:8-9,
- and being made perfect Jesus became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that  obey Him

The Bible states everlasting life requires belief and eternal salvation requires obedience.
These two words indicate that belief or faith must include obedience for faith to be Biblical saving faith.

John 3:16 = John 3:36,
- he that  believeth on the Son hath everlasting life...
and he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life...

John 3:36 has two different Greek words for believeth and obeyeth.

Hebrews 3:18-19,
- and to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest but to them that believed not
- so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief

The opposite must also be true, those who will enter into his rest obey.
And those that can enter in believe.

Romans 1:8; Romans 16:19,
- first I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all that your  faith is spoken of througout the whole world
- for your obedience is come abroad unto all men I am glad therefore on your behalf...
Faith= Obedience.

Gods Grace: Everything God has done that brought about our salvation.

Genesis 6:8,
- but Noah found  grace in the eyes of the Lord

What did Gods grace do for Noah?
Answer: Gods grace told Noah how to be saved.

God told Noah to build an ark.
Genesis 6:22,
- thus did Noah according to all that God commanded him, so did he

Noah obeyed Gods commandments.

Didn't the Bible say Noah was saved by grace?
What do we call Noah following Gods instructions, working on the ark building the boat to Gods specifications?
The answer is found in the new testament.
Hebrews 11:7,
- by faith Noah being warned of God things not seen as yet moved with fear prepared an ark to the saving of his house by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by  faith

What does the Bible call the building of the ark? What was Noah doing when he obeyed Gods commands?
Answer: the Bible calls it Faith!!!

Do you suppose that after the flood Noah bragged about how he built the ark and saved himself?
The ark didn't float because Noah was a great boat builder.
The ark floated because of Gods  grace. God gave Noah instruction on how to be saved by guiding him on how to build an ark. That's Gods grace in all that he did for Noah to bring about his salvation.

Noah's obedient faith and Gods grace saved Noah. No merit involved.

What does the Bible call Moses and the Israelites crossing the red sea?
Exodus 14:14 ; 16,
- the Lord shall fight for you(Gods grace provides everything they need to be saved) and ye shall hold your peace
- but lift thy up thy rod and stretch out thy hand over the sea and divide it and the children of
Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea

What does the Bible call Moses' obedience to Gods commands by lifting up his rod dividing the red sea and crossing over on dry ground?

The answer is found in the new testament.
Hebrews 11:29,
- by faith they passed through the red sea as by dry land which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned

Their obedience by working the commandments of God is defined by the Scriptures as their faith!!!
Do you suppose Moses bragged that he saved himself by raising his rod and walking across the red sea?
Gods grace saved Moses by Moses obeying Gods commandments. This is by grace one is saved through faith.

The children of God grew tired of mana and complained against God.
God sent serpents to bite His children.
Numbers 21:6-9,
- and the Lord sent firey serpents among the people and they bit the people and much people of Israel died
- therefore the people came to Moses and said, we have sinned for we have spoken against the Lord and against thee pray unto the Lord that He take away the serpents from us, and Moses prayed for the people
- and the Lord said unto Moses make thee a firey serpent and sit it upon a pole and it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten when he looketh upon it, he shall live
- and Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole and it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man when he beheld the serpent of brass he lived

God instructed Moses to make a brass serpent and place it on a pole.
If the children of God would look at the pole they would be saved.

If you had been bitten. Would you have said to Moses, " I wont look at the pole, because I know I will be saved by my faith only" ?

Of course not!!! It would be a lack of faith to not look upon the pole.
They were saved just as we are saved today, Ephesians 2:8-9.
For by Grace they were saved when they exercised their faith and looked at the snake on the pole.
Likewise for by grace we are saved when through faith we obey God.

John 3:14-15, 36
- as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of man be lifted up
- that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life
- for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
- he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life and he that obeyeth not
the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him

Faith without obedience is dead.
It is true that faith saves. But the Bible never says we are saved by faith only.

James 2:26; 24,
- for as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead also

Faith without obedience is not Bible faith.
- ye see then how by works a man is justified and not by faith alone
