Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Matthew 5:7
Anyone who has trespassed against me, I give the utmost mercy, meaning I learned to not treat them badly if they treated me bad or did something wrong. God is merciful so we should be like Him and He will be merciful to us when we need mercy, for our faults/sins. I encourage everyone to have this attitude. :)
God will teach them their lesson anyway. "Vengeance is Mine" says the Lord. Only God has that authority. I think we must also follow the authority figures on Earth, listen to their laws too but it doesn't mean practicing mercy doesn't apply to them if they're a Christian. If you are merciful to the point that you don't even have a bit or revenge for payback, God will be merciful to you when it's your turn of your sins. Just like the parable of the Unmerciful Servant, the man in the Bible who asked for the Master to wait for him to pay his debt, the Master waited patiently, the man asked for his debt to be cancelled, the Master cancelled it and then another man later asked that man can he wait for him to pay his debt and he said no and didn't cancel it. Then the Master said to the effect of "When you asked if you could have your debt cancelled, I cancelled it, now you won't get your debt cancelled!"
And just because we are merciful, it does not mean we cannot rebuke others in love as God taught us, it doesn't mean we're a doormat.
Anyone want to discuss?
