I found a good M.A. thesis which suggests that certain verses were edited by commentators in the Second Century to make it appear that women's ministry in the church is non-scriptural.
It may take a bit a resilience to read through discussion in the thesis, but it will be worth it. It might put the cat among the pigeons for those who are adamant about women being silent in church.
