You can catch these at the doc by my house... occasional legals..

and this is our prize catch back in the day on Oahu...

I'd love to try fly fishing... you need a specific pole right?

Nice fish Robbie. Fly rods are made to match the weight of the fly line and typically start at 2 wt - 12 wt but can go up to 14 wt on salt water rods. Rod lengths vary also depending on the type ranging from 6' 6" to 15'.

I might have to grab one... last summer I cruised to the Tule River and these people were banging trout like no other with flys... looked so fun... if I was to get a rod what would you recommend?

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, a 5 wt 9' 0r 9 1/2' rod w/ floating 5 weight forward line. Go to a good fly shop where you can get your hands on the rod and test cast and figure out what works best for you and the sales people are very helpful. You can purchase the rod there or go online and find the best deal.

I love fishing, there is a fresh water creek in my neighbor hood and the cats and carp are huge right now, i dont eat carp but im thinking about going out there just to fish for fun, their like up to 3 ft long right now..
