Yeah we definitely get hit hard with taxes in Aus, and we don't have a massive manufacturing sector in Australia, I don't think our government is supportive enough in that area either, they rather support some foreign nation on the manufacturing side of things.

Society norms, I think Canada is further left on that than Australia after hearing what they want to do with euthanasia there, Australia does not seem too far behind though, we have liberal abortion laws in every state and territory and there is euthanasia even though it's restricted at the moment, I definitely think that's going to become more available.

@Dan Clarkston Aussie gun laws I don't think are a concern and most Aussies would agree, we still live in a relatively safe country compared to other nations, provided you don't live in the few dangerous places like Alice Springs (which is actually pretty dangerous), then you have Craigieburn, Werribee, Mt Druitt, there are just a few rough pockets where most of the crime happens in Australia, usually it's domestic violence related or gang related, but in most places of Australia you are pretty safe to walk alone.

You are allowed guns for the purposes of hunting and sports, but you need like 2 licenses to go hunting, a gun license and a game license and there are limitations of where you can hunt, you can't just hunt in anywhere in any forest. No automatic weapons are allowed, only single action guns.

It's the other issues that are the problem.

Guns or not, if the Chinese troops landed on Australia, do you really think a much smaller country in population in comparison can defend their shores on their own?

No the reality is guns or not, conscription or not, our allies are going to have to come in and help defend this country if the Chinese ever attacked. The only thing we have working for us is we are surrounded by sea and in the corner of the earth.
