Line upon line is God's Way to study His Word. Here is the proper interpretation of Christ's Olivet discourse of the Signs of the end He gave His disciples while upon the Mount of Olives with them. The Signs He gave directly parallel the Seals of Revelation 6, so that should be studied in parallel.
1st Seal
Rev 6:1-2
6 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
KJV
First thing to understand, is that this 1st Seal everyone calls the 1st Seal, does not actually mention it is the very first one. The Scripture just says Jesus "opened one of the seals". Why is that? Why didn't He say the 1st Seal? It is because that event of the rider on a white horse does not happen first. It happens on a later Seal. Why?
It's because that rider on a white horse, with a bow of cheap fabric per Greek toxon, and 'a' single crown, is NOT about our Lord Jesus coming on a white horse per Revelation 19. This rider here is a FAKE CHRIST, a mimic of how Lord Jesus comes riding a white horse. Jesus will have a sword, and many crowns when He comes, per Revelation 19.
1st Seal Parallel:
Matt 24:3-5
3 And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?"
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, 'I am Christ'; and shall deceive many."
KJV
The first Seal topic in Rev.6 is about a FAKE CHRIST riding a white horse to mimic Christ's 2nd coming, and that is also Christ's first Sign of warning in His Olivet discourse, to not allow any man to deceive us. I'm going to put the direct Scripture parallel to the Seals in red like above.
He then also warns of the idea of the "many antichrists" that Apostle John spoke of in 1 John 2:18, about both a singular "antichrist", and the "many antichrist" workers that were already at work. Later in His Olivet discourse He, Lord Jesus will warn of a singular pseudo-Christ coming at the end to work great signs and wonders. But here He is warning of the "many" that would come just claiming... to be The Christ. (We've had many of those in history, including in modern history too, not one of them working great signs and wonders though.)
2nd Seal:
Rev 6:3-4
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, 'Come and see.'
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
KJV
That is about a war horse.
2nd Seal Parallel:
Matt 24:6-7
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
KJV
Notice how these Signs Jesus gave in His Olivet discourse run in the order He gave for the Seals in Revelation 6. That is not a coincidence. The Signs He gave in His Olivet discourse are about the end of this world like the Seals are.
That "ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars..." passage some get totally wrong. Note that Lord Jesus said to not be troubled when we hear about those wars and rumors of war. Why? Because like He said there, "but the end is not yet". What "end"? The coming tribulation at the very end of this world. You have to think about what He said there, because it means that "end" will not be about a time of wars and rumors of war. So what is the opposite of wars and rumors of war? A time of world peace! And we were warned in Daniel 8 about the future Antichrist coming to power using peace and destroying many using peace. And still today, there are wars going on, so this Sign about wars going on is happening today, but the "end", meaning the time of "great tribulation" is still not yet. Notice I didn't highlight the other Signs of famines, pestilences, etc. Not to worry, that's coming with a later Seal.
3rd Seal:
Rev 6:5-6
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, "Come and see." And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, "A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine."
KJV
That idea of the balances, and that expression of, "A measure of wheat for a penny,...", points to world commerce, and inflation, like it takes a whole week's wages just to buy a loaf of bread. It is pointing to famine. But not for those in Christ, because it is said to not hurt the Oil and the Wine. The Oil is a symbol for The Holy Spirit, and the Wine is a symbol for God's Word full strength and pure. Per the prophecy of Amos 8:11, there will be a famine upon many in the land, but not for bread, nor thirst for water, but for hearing The Word of God, looking everywhere for it and not finding it. It means many will lack true Bible understanding in the last days.
3rd Seal Parallel:
Matt 24:7
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
KJV
Usually what follows war and famine, are pestilences. We have seen all those above events in our times today, so I don't think those things need explaining.
4th Seal:
Rev 6:7-8
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, 'Come and see.'
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
KJV
Notice that the word "Death" is capitalized there? That represents "Death" as a proper name. So who would that point to? Right, Satan himself riding this pale horse. And "Hell" symbolically following after him means his workers upon this earth.
The idea simply is of his being given power over the 4th part of the earth, to kill with the sword (wars), and with hunger (famine), and with death (SPIRITUAL death mainly), and with the beasts (not animals, but his workers who in The New Testament are referred to as "brute beasts").
If you are familiar with the Book of Joel, those who have that power under Satan are represented by the locust army there in Joel 1 & 2. God calls them His army He sends among His people, and relates the timing for it at the end of this world, just prior to the "day of the Lord" (last day when Jesus comes). We are given more symbols about the working of these locusts in the Revelation 9 chapter.
The idea of what these workers do for the last days, is like what real locusts do in stages to devour a crop. This working of the locusts in stages is described in Joel 1:4. It means they will not miss anything, and only God can stop them. It is about their getting control of this world to bring in Satan's final attempt at a one-world beast kingdom, right here on this earth. That is what the Revelation 13 chapter is about for the end of this world. So all those symbols of the ability to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and with the beasts, can represent pointers to four main areas of control upon this earth.
