There's no way this was a coincidence. These are the types of people Israel is dealing with. The problem isn't just Hamas, it's the people. They elected Hamas in the first place. There's a reason why their Arab neighbors don't want them or why Egypt built a border wall between them and Gaza. They are some of the most radicalize people in the region. In fact, some Israeli hostages from the October 7th attack were even held in civilian homes, and according to one poll from the Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD), 75% of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank supported the October 7 massacre. They are also the same people who cheered in the streets when America was attacked on 9/11. Never forget that.
The poll also indicated that 90% of them believe coexistence with Israel is impossible, and 75% support the creation of a Palestinian state “from the river to the sea,” which is itself a genocidal statement. I know some people may not want to hear it, but there's a reason why God told the Israelites to kill everything that breathed during the conquest of Canaan. Otherwise, you end up with a situation like this, in perpetual conflict with a people who want to kill you.
