The Lord calls out with words that touch the heart: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” In these words He shows His love and His care. He does not ask us to be strong on our own or to carry life’s weight by ourselves. He invites us to place everything into His hands — our fears, our struggles, our guilt, and the things we cannot control.

When we carry our burdens alone, they grow heavy and crush our spirit. But when we give them to Christ, He carries them for us, and in His care we find peace. His promise is not only for a little relief, but for a deep rest in the soul, the kind of rest no one else can give. He is gentle and humble in heart, and He does not turn away those who come to Him in trust. He gives forgiveness to the sinner, peace to the troubled, strength to the weak, and comfort to the fearful.

Jesus also taught us not to live in worry about daily needs. He said not to ask with fear, “What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear?” because our Father in heaven already knows what we need. Instead, He told us to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, and everything else will be given in its time. This is the way of trust. To hand Him our fears means to believe that the Father cares for us more than we understand, and that the Son will carry the burdens that weigh us down.

The prophets gave the same assurance long before Christ came. The psalmist said, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Isaiah wrote, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Jeremiah called the people to return to God’s path, saying, “Walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” All these promises find their fullness in Jesus, who came to give peace to all who trust Him.

This rest is not about one day or one place, but about living close to God every moment. It is knowing that in Christ we are forgiven, that in His hands we are safe, and that He will not forsake us. It is laying down our fears in prayer, believing that He hears us. It is walking in His way, knowing that His burden is light compared to the weight of sin and worry we once carried.

So then, the rest of Christ is more than sleep for the body — it is life for the soul. It is the peace that comes when we trust Him fully and put all our burdens upon Him. In this rest we can say with confidence, “All will be well,” because our lives are held by the One who never fails.

Blessings.

PY,
25At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to infants. 26Yes, Father, for this way was well pleasing in Your sight. 27All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son determines to reveal Him.
28“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”

That passage by Jesus was the one that made it possible for me to go to Him. I never would have otherwise. I felt Him calling to me. I was raised in religion and so going to Jesus was forbidden. I had so many burdens and blind spots but this passage softened my soul.

Amen Brother.

You can always trust in Him he is always there for you as he is there for me and for any who belong to him. All his words are true. We can trust in him and rest in him completely just as he said.

Blessings.

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

(Matthew 11:25-30)

Those were also my favorite verses when I first came to know Jesus.
