In Philippians chapter 3;

Nine times in five verses Paul says this is what I will do because I love Christ. Paul loved the Christ in him more than he loved himself. After the HolySpirit fixed in Paul he nolonger lived then Paul was determined to give his mind to his spirit that is joined unto the Lord. That is commitment, that is what makes a marrage work. When the bible was written there was no place for lawyers like we have today, it was based on commitment. Your word was your bond and if that was broken then you could admit it, you confessed outwardly you failed, make it right and move on. You didn't get lawyers and start sueing everyone that you could like we do today.

We need to understand Christ as life and give a committed mind to that knowledge. Christ is committed, if you give him a mind to live and work through that is exactly what he will do. Most are quick to stand and say "bless God I'm a committed Christian." But most are committed church go-er's maybe and really don't know what Christianity stands for. Christianity is a committed lifestyle, Christians that know they give a mind to spirit, they are know-ers, know in whom they believed, know the Lord, they know Christ lives in them. Their not special they do not have anything more than any other believer, accept an understanding.

When you believed, you received all of Christ there is to recieve, not a piece and to receive more later, you got him in total. Your mind is where you will grow, not your spirit, your spirit is complete, Colossians 2:10

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

So what is commitment; it is you being faithful to Christ, Christ in you. You can nolonger say; well granddaddy said if I didn't have anything nice to say about someone don't say nothing at all. Well you see that was granddad not Christ, it may be a good thought but if your life is not Christ then what does it matter you are living for self. My experience through the years is; there are people that you will not like and may not even want to be around them, but the Christ in you will always love that person. So how do I handle that situation: probably just stay away, there may come a time when they will need you and you will be there to help. Christ never throws anybody away, religion will judge this one not worthy and unsavable or whatever, but not Christ.

Just because we live in a time of uncommittedness (my word) does not give you the right to live like that. Well I just can't do it, I know you can't but Christ can and will if he has a mind to work through.

I do love Philippians; with joy in Christ as a really strong motive, this is a great strength to the believer!
