GREAT! Everyone (almost) , should (probably).... the news about the shots is mixed at best, and has often been bad. The other ways of helping the immune system/ preventing spread/ do not toxify it, nor endanger it at all. (the ways know since before the Plague of Death/Black Plague) ...

that explosion of ebola a few years ago, seem like that, many people infected and the temperature change helps the virus remain dormant until, another sudden change in temperature causes the explosion.

That too passed. Handling it properly resulted in no worries. Handling it improperly resulted in sickness and death.

He wasn't fired for taking action or even for his communications. It was because someone leaked his message to the public. It was an embarrassment, and he became a scapegoat.

Which he seems to have anticipated. This was a man who put the mission and his sailors above his career. Which is precisely the sort of man we want commanding combat vessels.

And he's getting overwhelming support from veterans and the general public. Over 150,000 people have signed a petition to reinstate him. That's unlikely, given the power of the politicians who removed him. But there will be a reckoning. Congress is likely to get an investigation underway, after the pandemic eases.

This is why the Navy did as the Captain asked, even though they were annoyed at him. But that's not the whole story. In the 70s, when flu immunizations were not all that effective, I was in the AF, and ran the influenza program for the base. Everyone got an immunization, which was not pleasant, and sometimes would make you sick for a few days.

So why did we do it? The risk of an epidemic, putting a large number of people down, was unacceptable. We had to be prepared. The Navy, after the Captain's message, was unwilling to take that risk, and so did as he requested. But the top brass were not happy at being told.

Hence the blowback which Captain Crozier seems to have anticipated. But he did what he intended to do; assure the ship was mission-ready, and protect his people.

The gathering anger at the Navy has made Trump careful to distance himself from the decision. For good reason. Over 160,000 people have signed a petition to reinstate the Captain, and there's considerable anger in Congress over this gaffe.
