Who are Gentiles according to the Bible?

Did you know that the Hebrew word "goyim", usually translated as "gentiles", is frequently applied to the Israelite nation in the Bible?
In the churches of God there is very often a distinction made between "Israelites" on the one hand, and "Gentiles" on the other hand. In practical terms the inference is that "a Gentile" is somehow on a lower level than "an Israelite". The implication is that the Bible indicates that there are TWO broad categories of people: those who are racially descended from Jacob (whose name God changed to Israel) are "Israelites", and all others are "Gentiles".

Jews of today admit they are not Jews.

Jewish and other sources admit that they are not Israelites, but Khazars that came from Russia. They earlier were Gentiles that converted to Judaism. It doesn't say in these sources that before that they were Edomites, but other sources do.

The Kingdoms of Israel and Judah
The Jews admit that they are not the descendants of the Ancient Israelites in their writings.
Under the heading of "A brief History of the Terms for Jew" in the 1980 Jewish Almanac is
the following:
"Strictly speaking it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a ‘Jew’ or to call a
contemporary Jew an Israelite or a Hebrew."
(1980 Jewish Almanac, p. 3).

Interesting point you make.

I was thinking about this after I read it and straight away I had this Scripture come to mind.

"A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God" (Romans 2:28-29)

And

Romans 9:6-9
6 It is not as though God’s word(R) had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(S)7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[b](T) 8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children,(U) but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.(V) 9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[c](W)

So in light of these particular Scriptures what you are saying about the identity of the Gentile race is quite plausible.

As we read through OT history we find a nation set aside by God as a nation of priests to be separate from the world, but as time passes that nation rebels against God and we see that nation being dispersed amongst the "Gentile" nations, in this way all those who turned their back and worshipped other gods could no longer consider themselves Jew, even if they were born of the blood.
When Christ came a new covenant was set up amongst all the nations of the earth, there by being now a people still set aside by God, these people being those who accept Christ as Messiah.

Now heres where I stretch my knowledge a bit and dip my toe in my own thought. (so I understand if you dont follow, Im not completely sold myself yet, just spit balling)
Christ being fully God born in to the body of a Jewish man whose blood is spilt on the cross, through which we claim salvation. If we claim salvation through the blood of Christ who was Jew, then by purification and rebirth through that blood in Christ we too have the right to be called Jew, because as it is said, we have the right to be called children of God.

So "Jews" as far as they were once a small nation set aside for God, was merely a foreshadowing of a much greater plan. A much bigger number in fact a multitude who will be set aside for God, they are the Jew of today.

Really

Paul makes the distinction between the two of Jew and Gentile, also he wrote a book titled Hebrews. And he is a Jew or Hebrew.
Rom:2:10: But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Also Jesus makes the distinction.
Mt:15:26: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27: And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Those who live in America are called Americans, and those who are citizens of Russia are called Russians and so on and so forth those who are citizens of the state of Israel are called what?

There are reasons why there names given and adopted. And though it maybe true that there are many of the Jewish walk that aren’t originally of one of the tribes, that doesn’t mean all of those living in Israel today are not a son of Abraham.

The main focus is, those of the faith of Abraham are returning to the land given to his children, the Children of Israel by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their system of belief documented known as the Torah. Which logically means the day of the Gentile, is coming to its end.

The Lord said He would bring them out of the nations and sure enough they are coming out of the nation voluntarily and involuntarily.
