1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. - Ephesians 2:1-3.
Now when following Paul in the scriptures as he indicates, every born again believer comes to realize for their mind growth they will have to give up everything that made them who they are.
For example; the believer doesn't quit doing what they do they just see things differently. Nolonger is my education or some job title or what I do make me who I'm, nolonger my identity. It is nolonger you as the doer, it is Christ in you as the doer. That's what we mean by Christ as life or as your life. He becomes the doer of life, your life, your creation, the two become one in expression with Christ swallowing up my creation for His purpose. So it is nolonger just you on the job, it is Christ in you on the job. It is nolonger just you as the parent, husband, wife, son, dauther, minister, pastor, preacher, friend, and so on. But it is Christ in you as all these things and more. When we talk about the Christ life you are talking about everything a believer is because of union relationship or oneness, Christ in you. That is two people, Christ is one and you are the other one and the twain become one.
In marriage counseling for example, that is the final outcome. A husband and wife seeing Christ in each other. I know that may be tough in certain situations but that is the only hope for marriages when everything is said and done, it is the bottom line so to say. It may take time especially when someone is first hearing about understanding Christ as life. It should be Christianity 101 but it is not so most will have to spend time learning Christ in each other. But I have seen time and again how one or both can begin to settle down and see some light if you will.
So you may be a mechanic or the CEO of a company, or the president or in ministry it does not matter, it is Christ in you. We were all created with the ability to express the life of another. It is more than that! We have always been dependent on our nature. The spirit, nature, life, are all synonymous terms meaning the same thing. Romans 7:1-5.
Look at it like this; when you were in the world or had a sin nature you did it's bidding without reservation. We did not even know we did what we did was by nature. All we knew was we did sin and it came natural. Why is that? You lived by the life in you (granted sin life), it is what we do as tripartite beings. That is the way a believer is to live today by the life that is in him. What is the difference in life expression from old life to new life. Old life came natural, and new life has an old mind that it lives through.
It is all mind issues now because of the cross. The old spirit life was killed out at the cross and the new life is Christ. Why don't we live the new life, we don't know it. We still struggle with the mind, trying to get it renewed to something, when in all actuality it is someone we need to be renewed to.
