19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:19-20.
What was it about being dead to the law that Paul could not preach! Hold on to your hat because what he could see was if he preached Jesus of Nazareth and all the wonderful exploits and miracle's and the handling of humanity around him he could not preach Christ in you with understanding. It would be like preaching law and grace at the same time. You cannot do that, it has to be one or the other. You are either indebted to the law to keep the whole law by the law or grace just grace, you are in one or the other in mind always (you have been in grace only since your spiritual birth in spirit). You cannot mix oil and water, you cannot mix night and day, and you for sure cannot mix law and grace. You see Jesus was under law when he walked the earth, he came preaching grace and truth but he was still under Moses law. What did he say to them when they were trying to snare him and asked him his opinion on a issue, his answer was; what does Moses law say.
So the only thing you ever see Paul talk about on a deeper scale is the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. He never tried to hype up a crowd based on what Jesus did when he walked the earth, why was that? Because he knew that was not the Jesus believers needed to know. Jesus was the Christ of God that came and saved the people from their sin, Jesus killed out Satan rule over mankind, but now the people needed to know this Jesus that was back living in every born again believer in a level that had never been known to mankind. It is still relatively unknown to mankind because we have not made a message out of what Paul called the gospel which is 'Christ in you the hope of glory.'
A good way to divide soul and spirit is by thinking on law and grace terms. Soul being law and spirit being grace (my term only). The two can never connect because they come from two different ends of the spectrum and were never intended to connect (old man knowledge). So trying to connect the two is very frustrating to say the least. So when the believer tries to use all of scripture to make one gospel they will be sidetracked for a season. 66 books will not make one gospel, trying to put together all 66 books like a puzzle will never work it must be properly divided.
So what happens in grace is soul can connect to spirit, as a matter of fact they better connect if a believer is ever going to have a life here and now. A compatible mind (soul) with the spirit is life. The two became one the moment of birth and now the soul-mind begins to catch up with the facts. The peace, the joy of knowing you died when he died and the life you live now is a shared life even Christ in you the hope of glory. Glory! A complete package by knowledge. Bless you.
