Yes, Jesus said in Luke 7:

33 For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
Jesus affirmed that he did drink (alcoholic) wine. Some Jews accused him of drinking so much wine that he was drunk.

Of course it should be noted that most people drank wine at that time as water was questionably potable at best. They would, however, typically water down the wine -- the alcohol would kill bacteria in the water while being diluted to where people weren't getting drunk easily.

Wine was a staple in that era. And yes they used it to purify well water. But also most religions had connections to wine. Christianity was no exception it was part of the Bread and Wine Ritual and the vineyards figured into Christ’s parables and wine, grapes, and grapevines developed Christian symbologies.

No such thing as grape presses, they were all called wine presses.

During the harvest….in the heat....grape juice only lasted a few days. The harvest of grapes was large and a commodity, the only way to preserve it was to make it into wine or a form of vinegar.

Now a days most Christians would not think of going to a tavern and drinking and sharing the Word, but Christ did.

Likewise drinking at church is not customary….LOL But in the house churches of early Christianity the services included a meal and people drank wine and sang hymns.
