Every airplane has a black box. We use that box to analyze the data and figure out what went wrong with the plane, when there is a crash.
Well, now the Earth is getting a black box. This box is recording in detail all the Earthly activities including news and social media and it will be there in case we go extinct.

yeah....'they' have a premonition how it will end from man's perspective. They could be right.
