Part of the ongoing electric car scam happening world wide.
They also are piling up on dealer lots in the US as NO SALE
which means a situation in which a seller and a potential buyer are unable to agree terms to sell something so that a sale does not take place

And why would it, the electrical infrastructure does not exist to support these cars and there is no demand from the public, but the government is passing laws to force sales in the future.

Except laws change when governments change.

Only way to fix this, regime change in the US. As in Election of Trump, someone who will change these regulations or else.

EV are a problem everywhere
McMaster has lots of EV videos talking about the problems

Think of it if ever car Truck etc was a EV, look at what the pollution problems we would truly have, in just Battery's alone being dumped and the same with all of the sol panels is another huge pollution problem.
Maybe we can send them all to the Moon !

Some of the higher end EV cars have cool body designs.

I keep waiting for one of the custom car shows on the Velocity channel to take on of the cooler looking EV cars and put a high performance gas engine in it. thumbsup2.gif

With EV's we are witnessing the perfect catch 22. People will not buy more EV's until there are enough charging stations and they won't build more charging stations until there are more EV's on the road. How ironically delicious!

Considering the seriously long time to charge, how can there ever be enough charging stations. Imagine waiting in a long line for an opening to plug in. Everyone ahead of you could spend from 30 minutes to an hour charging. The demand peaks also for power would cripple the grid if all people had electric cars. And these GND thought police and governments are shutting down electric generation unless it is solar or wind. Total failure ahead.

The only logical thought I can come up with, the government wants you out of your car and not driving at all.

yeah. I live in SC on the border with NC and Duke energy call for people to conserve electricity. NC has a lot of EV's and charging them at home and at stations is draining power.

What would be better is hybrids and a "drive by wire" system.

Meaning that all 4 wheels are driven and steered by separate motors...meaning ALL cars are 4 wheel drive and braked.
And then a fueled generator that keeps the batteries from running down. You can be back up and driving as soon as the generator is fueled.

Electric vehicles are fine for short commutes. Like a trip to the grocery, schools, church or even work (if close by). Then the hassle of charging and etc is easier to deal with. The hassle of charging can be extreme for some people...especially for those renting rooms or living in apartments.

Hybrids have many more advantages of portability and ease of use for EVERYONE. It doesn't matter if you live in a rented room or have issues with expensive charging stations. You can buy regular petrol or propane or diesel (depending) and refuel your car on a whim.

What also has not happened yet is the change in OEM electric voltages. Car windows, locks, steering and etc all still work on 12 volt systems. Now what could happen is that the voltage could be raised to 50 volts and save 100lbs or more from the reduced wiring size necessary in a vehicle. But OEM manufacturers have not been offered any incentives to make the switch. Meaning the government is only interested in pleasing sound bytes. They don't care about you or anyone.

Edison Motors has been building conversion kits for diesel logging trucks in Canada...been rather successful at it too. They have working trucks that perform admirably and efficiently. And off road as well as on the highway.

But no one wants to hear about these or talk these being a great interim solution for us.
