I have read several threads on the Holy Spirit, Gifts of the Spirit, The gifts no longer exist etc. This debate never seems to be settled. Why is it that we can read the same scriptures and claim to have the same Spirit and can not come to the same conclusion?

That's an obvious answer. Satan attacks this site as it is a battle of between the Word of God or Men's Tradition.Love much Jag,Lovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.

I'll give you an example...Men's Tradition - Cain is the son of Adam (Genesis 4:1)God's Words - Cain is the son of Satan (Genesis 3:15, John 8:44) And you won't find Cain in Adam's geology (Genesis 5) or the lineage for Christ to come (Luke 3:23-38)Men's Tradition - Adam and Eve are the first two people on Earth. (Genesis 2:7, Genesis 2:18, Genesis 3:20) (I Corinthians 15:22)God's Words - There are more people (Genesis 1:26-28) (Genesis 7:23, Genesis 8:7)Please note: On Men's Traditions, I'm just quoting scriptures of where people most likely quote to correct the Word of God.Love much, JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.

Oh oops...My bad...Sorry.Here is a fact...people claims that we need to speak in "unknown" tongue (some blah, blah, blah) in order to get the Holy Ghost. Not so... Are we already gaining truth? We can not know truth if we do not have the Holy Ghost... God is not going to give everyone the same gift.Another fact, EVIL is always immature. Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:16-20)Hope that helps.Much love, JagLovest ye in Christ Yahshua our Lord and Saviour.

I believe the problem arises when we take away or add to the Word of God. For instance when speaking about the Holy Ghost there are many who disregard the book of Acts and Jesus' instruction to born again believers to 'wait for the promise of the Father which saith he, You have heard of Me, for John truely baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence' and later he says 'you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you' ( Acts Chapter 1 ) Alot of believers do not understand being totally filled with the Holy Ghost so they disregard the book of Acts and many have even said that its not for us today. However, we have no scripture which shows us that we are to disregard any part of the Bible. So the big issue comes into play when you have two different views, one view says this is the Word of God and I will read and study all of it and apply it to my life, and there are other groups who pick and choose what they read and hear. And its those groups who pick and choose which have led to numerous denominations being formed. And therein lies our biggest problem. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, and we will live by his Word, not a portion of it, but the fullness of it. So yes, we will pray in other tongues, we will flow in the gifts of the spirit as the Holy Spirit guides, and signs miracles and wonders do follow us because we believe.

I see the "gift of the Spirit" being misused, much like the promises of God are misused by those of the "word of faith" movement. The gifts of the Spirit are legitimate gifts given by God to bless the church. But I see people using them to inflate their own worth. And by labeling oneself, with a particular gift, they act as if all other (less self glorifying actions) are no longer their responsibility. For example, if Sam has a gift of "prophecy" & not "helps", does it excuse him from folding chairs after a service? Isn't it better to do whatever God asks of us regardless?

I agree with pmm521 and Nova. I would like to add that I think it boils down to who is interpreting the scriptures man or the Holy spirit.
