Sunday 12-24-23 1st. Day Of The Weekly Cycle, Tevet 10 5784, 4th. Winter Day

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

If my focus is always or just too often on me instead of on Him, what should I expect?

If a person really focuses on God on Sunday mornings for an hour or so, but for the rest of his 168 hours per week never gives God more than a casual thought, what should he expect from God?

If a person has memorized a whole lot of Bible verses [or even all of the Bible] but never focuses on God and what those verses mean to Him or him, what should he expect from God?

Help us dear Lord!

Hello amadeus, and how are you all? good points, I guess, only if I would study unto GOD all the time, and wait on Him for answers I would know the truth, and by doing those things pleasing in His sight, but what is your view?

Apostle Paul expresses it simply, concisely, I believe, in these two verses:

1th 5:17Pray without ceasing

Phil 4:4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice

And then the Psalmist...
Ps 118:24This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
And then Jesus...

Mt 11:28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mt 11:29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mt 11:30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
And Jesus regarding the day:

Mt 6:34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Joh 9:4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
