Just cut him/her out of your life-
Jesus said "..a man's enemies will be the members of his own household" (Matt 10:36)
A family member of mine has got a nasty nagging streak so I cut them out of my life 10 years ago and haven't seen or spoken to them since, it was a nice clean break..:)
Sorry to hear this @LadyofFireandLace. There's really not enough info in the OP for me to offer any advice. So I'll just pray for you and your family. Hopefully God will turn them helpful instead of hurtful.
Ah! Fluffy, God will not allow you to be tested more that you can bear. In all things Give Thanks for He is with you and cares for you just I also care that you will be strong in your faith and that you will be continually in Praise, for His Glorious Name rests upon you, as one of His Favourite Children, in the Faith of God. May you sense God peace within your circumstance and the outflowing of His protection for you hedged by His Angels surround you such that no harm will come to you as you persevere in your faith of God acting in your Life only for Good to come to you and those whom you love.
Trust God in all things. I am trusting God that He will comfort you and protect you in a way that you could not imagine it to happen so that His Glory is seen in and through you as you witness you faith in Him.

Sometimes one must do what he has to do in order to have peace in his or her life, I've done the same with some of my family members.

I pray everyday, I'm talking about family members who don't get the idea when you tell them to back off or respect you and instead spread gossip and try and cause you problems, people like that I don't need in my life and cut them out, as simple as that.
@JohnPaul Ppl are in varying situations, I guess. I have no blood relation family members nearer than thousands of miles away; I guess this makes for a peaceful life in some ways, but different in others....
Perhaps, instead of talking about your family members who do not get what you are telling them so that they will leave you alone, if you followed Fluffy's example and instead asked God to include those family members among those who He will draw to Himself. The next step is to then thanked God in your times of prayer that He has hear this particular prayer of wanting God's intervention in your family member's lives and praising God for what He is doing and is about to do in their lives.
You may be surprised in the change of circumstances that you will find yourself in.

Shalom is a very common Hebrew word for Christians to use. It means "peace."
It doesn't matter much to me what other people always do. I am not responsible for someone else's actions, but I can always have confidence in my relationship with God if I am earnest to do what is right.
Moments of selfishness might come and go, but God intervenes and if I am corrected, then I'll be corrected. I was corrected and blessed with reassurance because of it.
