David fought Goliath and defeated a giant for Israel. He later became king. In one event he looked and saw a beautiful woman. He then sent a soldier to retreive her. That soldier conceived with her. David later sends him off to war desiring perhaps his death so that he might gain her as another wife. God sternly reprimands him.
Later Jesus is born, the son of God. And suffers death and hell for his Father's children and arises on the third day, also opens the doors of the grave and brings many back to life and are seen by many. They ascend to heaven.
Jesus the Christ now sits at the right hand of the Father in his almighty throne. Jesus is of the lineage of king David, heir to the crown and prince of peace, among many names.
The story of king David reminds me of the Father giving his beloved son a command to lay down his life and take it up again. It also can invoke similarities to the lamb of God and the bride to the bridegroom. Where Jesus takes on a body of Christ and redeems them of their sins to retreive and raise them from the dead and into eternal life. They now are together with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and await our arival if we love God, our neighbors and serve God in whatever capacity we have. God is good and desires the salvation of all. Some are vulnerable that must be cared for and protected.
