Mom passed away on June 21 after I was her caregiver 24/7. Been busy attending to matters that need handling which are more stressful than the care giving since I don't walk as easily for some years. Will be 74 in early September.

Also, city inspection for the apartment building this week. So I am doing things to get ready for that.

A cousin's wife phoned the other day...they are planning a visit in September. I told her I really don't feel like company right now....too much on my plate plus, of course, mom's passing. They will stay at a hotel but I started to feel tired after her phone call.

Usually my cousin phones me, not his wife, so I wonder if it's her idea to come so soon after mom's passing. She said she had thought about after the first of the year, but decided on September instead.

Prayers for you sister. That feeling of being overwhelmed on top of the other issues can really exhaust us.

Today I had an appointment to do an errand in downtown. I used to walk well and could jump on the subway alot or even busses.

Now I have to take the taxi. Coming home I walked down to the next building to make it easier for the taxi to pick me up (rush hour traffic).

After a half hour, he phoned he was out front. I kept telling him for at least five minutes I don't see him, where are you. Finally I asked if he was around the corner on 8th Street....still no reply from him. But I started walking around the corner.... that's where he was!

Some young lady saw me hobbling towards the taxi and she told the driver I was coming. She even held the door open for me while I got in with some groceries and cane. The driver just sat there.

But I'm doing ok now.

Doing better since I got all of the red tape handled now. Now most things that comes in the mail for mom, I return with "deceased, return to sender." Better than trying to phone them.
Good to hear! Sorry, I've been a bit busy, just had a moment to think about you during this time. I hoped the hospitals and government were respectful during your time of grief. I know you had your Mother in hospice for a time or something like that.

My mom was in our apartment while on hospice care. I still took care of her 24/7 till she died. She was a believer so she's with Jesus.

Oh yes of course @Debp that makes me happy to hear. You really took care of your Mom. My father is starting to decline mentally so that is something I've had to deal with, my mother already passed and that was a difficult time for me. I feel she is with Jesus also. We are blessed that way as Christians. Comfort from God. He certainly loves us.
