I am very interested in Forgiveness. I believe it is the highest example of love and the meaning of life - not to mention God's incredible, merciful, and elegant response to the problem of pain. Learning to forgive another person and yourself in the face of injustice is perfectly sublime.

A story of forgiveness always come to my mind when I contemplate this topic - I am sure most people remember it - when the Amish community in PA choose to be a witness to the world by forgiving one of their own people for a mass shooting in one of their towns. I get chills thinking about it - God made it possible - His mercy made it possible to sew up the chaism of pain caused by the Fall through a monumental action - the highest example of charity - forgiveness. Because Jesus forgives us, we now know how to forgive others, in the face of a world that is terribly unjust.

I would love to hear any stories of forgiveness that you would like to share.

How can we learn to forgive radically?

After studying the nature of forgiveness for years my understanding can be summed up with this...
By never taking offense in the first place.

Jesus forgave them on the cross.jesus said I am the life look at the way Jesus lead his life when it came to forgiveness , in the bible it says some where if you go to the altar and offer a sacrifice and your angry with your brother leave your sacrifice at the altar go and make it up quickly with your brother then go back to the altar and offer your sacrifice, our lord said the word quickly, In the lord’s prayer the first thing Jesus said about forgiveness he said father for give us are sins because we forgive them that have sinned against us so in order for god the father to forgive us are sins through Jesus we have to forgive EVERY ONE THAT HAS SINNED AGINST US another thing Jesus said stand at the gate because you don’t know when I am coming for you, what he was saying there ,each day of your life be prepare you do not know when you will die.

I never want to church for years and when I went back from now on I am going to be a good catholic. every week I went to mass and every month I went to confession after six months I thought I don’t feel any different, and it dawned on me one day because god the father had for given me all my sins he gave me his grace so I was able to forgive all them that had wronged me that was 20 years ago and I still forgive them if there someone you cannot forgive ask god through Jesus and he will give you the grace you need

Hi Aspen, I have three words for you...Dr, Conrad Murray. Oh dear Lord how I hated that man, I considered him to be a monster not worthy to live. BUT GOD...there is always a but God. One day the hatred was gone and I actually began to feel sorry for the man and I did'nt feel bogged down with the weight of all that hatred anymore. All I know is that it had to have been God who softened my heart because all I had was a strong hold of hate. There is a good book on forgiveness called " I Thought We'd Never Speak Again " by Laura Davis. God Bless you Aspen..., I hope my story helps you in some way.
