When Jesus is dieing on the cross - it is what is referred to as a sacrifice. What he was representing on the cross was the whole human race - before the cross - at the time of the cross - and after the cross. What was sacrificed as Jesus was Adam, the first Adam. The second Adam was representing the first Adam.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. - Hebrews 2:9.
This is another verse we can you use for what is called! substitutilism. A substitute was provided for you as you - Adam. When humanity was held captive and responsible for Adams disobedience Jesus Christ came as the second Adam to be a substitute and a sacrifice to take Adams place in dying to that sin, killing it out.
So we can say it was you on that cross because you were in Adam. We usually don't hear that about the cross but it is very important because without the knowledge of your death on the cross you still feel you have a life of your own and now Jesus has fixed it and you are ok to live and heaven will be your home one day. That is a real shallow understanding of salvation - it is a start and we all start there but absolutely must grow in Grace and knowledge. You must watch that adamic mind because it is as tricky as the old adamic nature. Remember he received a knowledge of Good and evil, and that is the knowledge you will live by until you learn different. This is how our beloved apostle Paul put it;
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20.
So there is another life, there is another knowledge, there is another way, there is A revelation, there is a new life to live by, and it has to be revealed to you, Gal.1:11-12. We need a Bible that does not cut out so many words that say 'revelation, and in him, by whom, through whom.' You will need to watch your bible translations because you will miss a lot by using certain bible translations of scripture. It does not matter to me what anyone reads but it will make a difference to you.
Because what all that leads to is; identification. Identification is what will set a believer on the path of knowing because now the Holy Spirit will have something to work with in mind - he needs the mind for revelation. The Holy Spirit is your teacher - he is soulish or in the mind to teach you the things of God. "Yeah the deep things of God" you find out is Christ in you the hope of glory. When the Holy Spirit reveals Christ to you - you know it. Man will not have to explain Christ in you to you, no sir you will know. Well how do I know some ask - you will know. scriptures says "in that day you shall know."
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. - John 14:20.
