"The Lord had said unto me, 'If but one man or woman were raised by His power, to stand and live in the same spirit that the apostles and prophets were in, who gave forth the Scriptures, that man or woman should shake all the country in their profession for miles around." - George Fox

We see that the gospel is not in words, but in power. :)

Amen! The first job of a Christian is to be a Christ bearer.

Who in the world is George Fox, and why should we listen to him??

Men are so stubborn and set against the revelation of new life and power in Christ (through our death) that they hate even the messenger of it, and attack him personally... They judge such a man, and yet exalt themselves in their pride.

This is usual in the world... And has now become usual in the church.

So that's what George Fox is about?

Actually I was speaking about those who react with things like 'Who are you?' when a man like George speaks the truth. ;)

Men will disqualify the truth with whatever excuse they find so that they (1) don't have to obey it or (2) admit they fall short and be humble. The pride of man is enormous, and always goes against the call to die that we might live, and to leave our lives to be truly filled with God's life.

That's a whole lot of gibberish for just asking who is George Fox, especially since you appear to be promoting him on this site.

You miss the point. This is not a promotion of George Fox... It is promoting the way of Christ... Which George Fox simply happens to also be promoting.

Men approach the truth with cynicism, already trying to find something wrong with it... But we can only enter this kind of truth if we approach it with a childlike faith and openness.

So now we must go look up George Fox to see exactly what doctrines he holds to? Isn't that what you're suggesting we do?

No.

I am suggesting we leave our evangelical misconceptions of having arrived behind... And strive to enter the narrow gate, and arrive at a place where we walk in the power of the gospel and are truly conformed to Christ. :)

The only way to bring others to Christ is to be Christ-like and have Christ's Spirit living in you!

Yes! :)

What men need most is not beautiful and idealistic words... They need to see what they are going after. We have plenty of people speaking of great ideals and how the world should be... But what inspires one to become like Christ is to see how he is.

We need an actual experience of the power and life of Christ... Sadly, this is so often missing in today's modern Christianity. Men have lost sight of the goal.
