God has chosen the sinner instead of the self righteous

1 Cor 1:27-30
27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption
NKJV

Jesus Christ is our righteousness, sanctification and redemption. We have none of these things outside of Jesus Christ.

Don't forget that it is the foolishness of preaching that saves. Yes, it is Christ that saves, but you have to have one who preaches Christ.

All Christian religions will tell you that they preach Christ. But what is the message they preach?

The way I look at it is that we have the writings of Paul to tell us about the grace gospel for this age. In addition we have the Holy Spirit to teach us by opening the scriptures for us so that we can truly understand them.

So many study the scriptures as just a lot of independent things that can be taken out of context and interpreted as a person wishes. But the scriptures can not be understood that way. I sat down many years ago and wrote an article detailing what I see in the N.T. I call it "My overview of the Bible". I wonder if others can see an overview of what God has done for us and tried to write it down. What I wrote was on 8 pages.

People should try to take the time to make their own "overview" of the Bible to see if what they think is there is really there.
