jer 50:20In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve. All scripture synchronizes, for God has always, nothing changed, dealt favorably with only a remnant, a part of the whole..The word reserve here is the hebrew word:sha'ar which means:to remain, be left over, be left behinda) (Qal) to remainB) (Niphal)1) to be left over, be left alive, survivea) remainder, remnant (participle)And as God spoke through Jeremiah here in our text, so too He spoke through the writings of Paul..rom 11:4But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.Note, if we are not in Idolatry and serving a false Christ, we cant thank ourselves, but God, who reserves His remnant from bowing the knee to baal..it was because we were of the election of grace..if it was not for God reserving the elect, they too would be deceived by the antichrist preachers we now see..Matt 24:24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. This is impossible though, because God said I will reserve to myself a remnant from amongst mankind..God had a remnant in the jews rom 11 and He had a remnant in the gentiles acts 15:14Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people [ A remnant] for his name. 15And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 16After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: 17That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Notice vs 14, God wasn't interested in all gentiles to be a people for His name, but some, He would take out from the whole..God has the riches of His grace for not all, but those whom He reserves..Micah says:7:18Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.mercy and pardon is reserved for not all, but the remnant..this applies to both jew or gentile..its only the chosen remnant in any people that receives Gods mercy and pardon..And the rest of mankind, whether jew or gentile are blinded..
