Do not defraud any Christian brother or sister, ...

1 Thessalonians 4:6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified...

...even if you think they deserved to be defrauded.

1 Corinthians 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

That also applies to any believer defrauding unbelievers

11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

1 Peter 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

If you have defrauded someone and it is within your power & means to make restitution, you should ask the Lord for help to do that. If there is no opportunity to do it, then ask the Lord for forgiveness and for His help not to do that again so you will be found abiding in Him.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.


For those that are victims of being defrauded, ask Jesus for help to suffer wrongfully.

1 Peter 2:19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Why is it that we claim to worship and obey a God who explicitly told us to love our enemies and those who do us wrong..... yet almost all you hear "Christians" talking about is anticipating God getting even with those same people, and thrilling over the prospect of them suffering in torment?

Because some Christians are so tempted to get revenge, that's why. By knowing God will avenge them, they have reasons to let go of injustice.

Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Obviously Paul saw the need to exhort believers to not seek vengeance and rest that God will do it, while setting their sights higher in loving their enemies what is within their realm and opportunity as led by the Spirit to do, and it may not always be possible to live peaceably with all men.

So like it or not, Christians will be tempted to think as an avenging American in seeking justice, but God wants us to let Him do it, and lean on Him to know when to do good otherwise or when not to in living peaceably with all men.

Jesus did say how bad it will be for the elect in the latter days when faith will be hard to find. Reads to me a lot of believers will be tempted for vengeance.

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We are all guliable to different cons scams etc or victims of injustice.
Yes we can cry out to God about it, but we are to do good to those who harm us, whether perscutors or those who take advantage of us, we are to pray for them.
Not just an inbiblical ' God bless them!' But a detailed precise prayer for there well-being and for there benefit and to do this regularly.

If done sincerely one comes to genuinely care for them.

Not just an inbiblical ' God bless them!' But a detailed precise prayer for there well-being and for there benefit and to do this regularly.

Thank you for sharing, but I do point out to unrepentant carnal believers that there are scripture warning why they should repent and not put it off since the Bridegroom can come at any moment. It is to their good that we pray for them and show scripture for why they should repent, and not just for us victims to suffer wrongfully and we need to pray for ourselves that the Lord will help us with that too.

you know that's a good point but if my memory serves the scriptures do state that the saved will witness the demise of the non believer. or at least something to that effect. without looking it up it could be in reference to the lake of fire.

thing is there's no reason that anyone under the sun is entitled salvation in Christ, one human being is just as guilty as the other in the sight of the Lord. God's Judgement is Life, Life to the condemned.

One can have done it sincerely and yet the devil has a way of bringing back the anger and the need for vengeance for why we are to look to Him daily to help us lay aside every weight & sin in running that race. No need to doubt oneself about having done it sincerely or not. Just recognize that we need His help again to lay it aside and to lean on Him to suffer grief wrongfully, forgive them for they really do not know what they are doing when God is the avenger of such, and pray for them that God will deliver them from their sinful selves.
