I like God's internal stamp of approval and authentication of the 66 books of the Bible. He did this to prevent "tampering" and deception. (see my link at the very end if you don't want to read this).

The first 39 books of Isaiah in many ways parallel with the first 39 books of the OT. The last 27 books are a picture of the Gospel and parallel in many ways with the NT while the first 39 deal with law and judgment.

Read Isaiah 40 and Matthew. Isaiah 66 and Revelation. Isaiah 1 and Genesis.

Here is Isaiah 66 and Revelation 21.

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Isa. [/background]66:1 [background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Thus saith the LORD, [/background]The heaven is my throne[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)], and the earth [/background]is[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] my footstool: where [/background]is[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] the house that ye build unto me? and where [/background]is[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] the place of my rest?[/background]
[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Rev. 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and [one] sat on the throne.[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Rev. 18: 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Rev.18: 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she says in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow….9) And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning.[/background]

Rev 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. [/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Isa [/background]66:23[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, [/background][background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]shall all flesh come to worship before me[/background][background=rgb(250, 250, 250)], saith the LORD.[/background]
[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Rev 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. [/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Isa. [/background]66:24[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] And they shall go forth, and look upon [/background]the carcases of the men [background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]that have transgressed [/background][background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]against me:[/background][background=rgb(250, 250, 250)] for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched[/background][background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.[/background]
[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Rev. 19:20-21 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophetthat wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth (Jesus Christ): and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]In Isaiah 40:3 it says "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." [/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Then in the Bible's "40th" book and in "Chapter 3 verse 3" it says again;[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]"The voice of one crying in the wildereness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paaths straight." Matt.3:3[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]So therefore we can see here that the 66 book Protestant Bible Canon, although it was not changed or altered at all by anyone, came out with the Book of Matthew being the "40th" book. And the verse was again in the 3d verse.(as well as being in the 3d chapter!)[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]*-The 33rd and 34th chapters of Isaiah also match the 33rd and 34th Bible books of Micah and Nahum when examined.[/background]

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]Isaiah 34:1 [/background]Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. For the of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

Book 34 - Nahum 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Isaiah 34:4 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree

Book 34 - Namum 3:3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: ... All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

Here is a chart showing which chapter of Isaiah corresponds to which book of the Bible. Enjoy finding all the connections!

And best of all, here is a brother that is actually doing the work for you.

It figures as wise as God is that He would have His own internal stamp of authentication!

Some books the Bible mentions were not inspired but are simply used as historical sources. This is the case when Paul quotes books by the pagan writers Aratus, Menander, and Epimenides (Acts 17:28, 1 Cor 15:33, and Ti 1:12, respectively) or when the Old Testament refers us to the book of the Annals of the Kings of Media and Persia (Est 10:2).
The same is likely true of the book of the Annals of the Kings of Israel (1 Kgs 14:19) and the book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah (1 Kgs 14:29), which may simply have been court records or secular histories of the periods they discussed. The same goes for the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel (2 Chr 16:11), and the Memoirs of Nehemiah (2 Mc 2:13).
Other books contained genuine revelation, though the book as a whole was not inspired. This is the case with the book of Enoch, which is quoted in Jude 14, and possibly a book known as the Assumption of Moses, which appears to be quoted in Jude 9. A work of unclear status is the book of Jashar, which is twice quoted in the Old Testament (Jo 10:12-13, 2 Sm 1:18-27) and seems to be a book of songs concerning the history of Israel.
Among uninspired books mentioned in the Old Testament are the Records of Samuel the Seer, the Records of Nathan the Prophet, and the Records of Gad the Seer (1 Chr 29:29), the Prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, the visions of Iddo the Seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat (2 Chr 9:29), the Records of Shemaiah the Prophet and of Iddo the Seer (2 Chr 12:15), the Annotations of the Prophet Iddo (2 Chr 13:22; the references to works of Iddo may be different ways of referring to the same book).
In the New Testament, there are references to a third letter from Paul to the Corinthians (1 Cor 5:9) and of a letter of his to the Laodiceans (Col 4:16; though many have thought this letter to the Laodiceans is the same as the letter to the Ephesians). Such books may have been inspired, but for some reason God chose not to have them passed down and included in the canon.

Axehead, there were no early councils that endorsed the 66 books Protestants honor (check the facts in your local library). The current canon of Scripture was affirmed at the Council of Rome in 382 under Pope Damasus, which included all and only the seventy-three books Catholics honor today. This canon was repeated at Hippo and at Carthage (A.D. 393 and 397, respectively) and has been repeated ever since.
It was Martin Luther who tossed out the seven books considered canonical since the beginning of Church history. He also rejected the epistle to the Hebrews and the book of Revelation. He also called the epistle of James "an epistle of straw" because James 2:14–26 conflicted with his personal theology on good works. He also added the word (in his German translation) only in Romans 3:20 and Romans 4:15, and he inserted the word alone in Romans 3:28.

But these are included in the Jewish canon.

That is not what this thread is about - it is claiming that "God's internal stamp of approval and authentication of the 66 books of the Bible"

Neo and Aspen,

I wouldn't think you would find it hard to believe at all, since you believe some very far-out and outrageous things. This at least seems more than coincidental, wouldn't you say? The facts are that Isaiah has 66 chapters and they correlate very closely with the 66 books in the Bible (even Esther and SoS) that we have today. Of course just like all the incredible things that you believe, one must take this by faith, too.

All the best,

It is not an issue of faith. Your construct reminds me of the Bible Code - it is superstitious and it is not accurate because it only represents Books of the Bible recognized by the Reformers.

Look, I am just presenting something that is there in the Bible in black and white. No code whatsoever. I am merely asking if people think it is coincidental or just random anomalies? To some it may be confirmation, to others like you it is spurious. That's fine. I did not make it up. It just happens to be there, Aspen. Of course, it has nothing to do with how we are called to walk with Jesus Christ in close fellowship, but I thought everyone (including you) would find it interesting. You are giving a lot of attention to it, aren't you?

I am just commenting on your thread - nothing personal.

Another problem is that scripture was not divided into chapters and verses until the end of the Middle Ages.

Sure, I understand. I appreciate everyone that takes the time to contribute to a thread.

It is amazing how God has protected His word through the ages and sometimes I think (personal opinion of course) that He may have even inspired some of the book and chapter numbering. I don't teach that as divine truth, I just find all of these "coincidences", fascinating.

The Bible predicted Shakespeare:

Psalm 46 – The Shakespeare Psalm

In the KJV The 46[sup]th[/sup] word of Psalm 46 is “shake” and the word 46 from the end is “spear”. And at the time the King James Bible was being finally revised the playwright William Shakespeare (born 1564) would have been 46 years old.

Does this also "prove" that the KJV is the perfect spirit inspired translation!
