@Ritajanice The terribly thin dog rescued with the four others is doing much better.... his ribs already filling out.
Takis is giving him many small meals to adjust him to getting more food.

He also has a new bed and rug inside. Once he is stronger, he will be reunited with his friends.

This was his previous condition. He wasn't eating while outside so Takis moved him indoors for special care. All five dogs will get blood tests.... already treated for ticks, fleas and worms. An old man in the mountains surrendered these dogs.

These are the four other dogs surrendered by the old man.
They get small meals often since they had been starved in the mountains. I guess the old man didn't have money to feed them. At least he finally surrendered them to the shelter.

Awww Duke, so pleased that he made it, woofing down his food, tail wagging, thank God that old man surrendered them, I don’t think Duke would have lasted ....Takis really does care and looks after them.and let’s not forget all those who volunteer, he couldn’t run the place without them...

Completely different dogs, beautiful characters, no fighting while eating the food from that trough, tails wagging, then barking at Takis body guard dog, LOL, ...such a caring man, as well as his lovely volunteers, he certainly needs volunteers to help him with the amount of dogs that he has, if I lived near him, I too would volunteer to help, I hope that their mate, Duke can return to his buddies soon....thank you Lord for watching over these dogs.

I don't know if you can vacation very far away with your heart situation. But Takis takes volunteers from other countries. He's had some from England and Germany. Maybe The Netherlands.

His shelter is on the island of Crete.

This couple from Belgium adopted two dogs and brought supplies for the shelter.

Update on this dog.

That poor dog, he can hardly walk, not only is he skin and bone, his eye and ear needs attention, which Takis say he will do.....those flies all over him when he was first rescued made me feel sick and still that darling dog was wagging his tail....I just don’t understand where these peoples “ conscience “ are....thank God Takis came along when he did, otherwise that dog as Takis said would have died.

Poor Takis, was beside himself , he didn’t know wether to take her or not, he was concerned that her babies would be somewhere ...he said that he couldn’t leave her there, he would get back in touch with the guy who told him about this mother dog and will ask him to keep an eye out for her puppies..I can certainly relate to him when he says that he hates people who do this to animals....they need so much prayer and truly need to know God in their lives...thanks for keeping us updated on this mother...praying that they find her puppies..yet, Takis believes she was deliberately abandoned.
