Yes you are correct, the HS does not come to you during water baptism.
He comes to you the very instant you hear the gospel, believe it, and then by faith sincerely receive Jesus as your savior..
Following this conversion you are to be baptised in water.

The infilling of the Holy Spirit comes we seek God for it or with the laying on of hands by true believers.

Acts 10:44-46;
[sup] [/sup]While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. [sup]45 [/sup]The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. [sup]46 [/sup]For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
Acts 4:31
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 8:14-16

[sup]14 [/sup]When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. [sup]15 [/sup]When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, [sup]16 [/sup]because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 19:5-7
On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [sup]6 [/sup]When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. [sup]7 [/sup]There were about twelve men in all.

It is NOT as you depict above.

Stan if you will look at 1 Peter 1:11 you'll note that the HS was IN the OT prophets.

Peter, who wrote this book 35-40 years after Jesus died, He was referring to the Apostles here, NOT the OT prophets.

According to that which you wrote, Catholics , besides receiving the Holy Spirit at their Baptism, will always receive the HS at every Mass they attend , because the Gospel must be read in order for Mass.
And of course Catholics may receive Jesus [ Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity ] at Mass.
Practicing Catholics can receive the Holy Spirit [ God ] everyday.
