I'm a 50 year old former atheist from the UK. I was born and raised in the Church of England (my father was a parish priest) - like many of my generation I stomped off angrily at 14 or so thinking I had all the answers - have spent the last 15 years (after countless troubles) slowly and sometimes very reluctantly creeping or being dragged back to God, despite my best efforts. GK Chesterton and CS Lewis put the last nail in the coffin of my agnosticism and here I am. Church attendance is tricky for me at the moment (for various reasons I won't bore you all with) although I get along when I can, usually to an early morning communion before work - I'm hopeful this will change in time. Good to be here, looking forward to some fellowship.

Well, Lewis and Chesterton are two of my favorites, though admittedly I've not read all of Chesterton's books yet. The Lewis quote about mud pies always strikes a chord with me when I see it. I read McGrath's biography on him, and it was interesting to learn more about the person. I did not even know he was Irish, for instance.

As for your biography, that is a very typical path. I think God is patient with us, even when it takes us some time and some prodding! I do hope that your church attendance works out for the better, as it's great to be plugged into a local community of believers, but I think you can at least find some fellowship here. Welcome aboard!
