Hi,

I'm glad to read your (feedback) mail today. You cheered me up this morning.
As the LORD commanded us to live in fellowship with one another, I started searching for an online Christian Forum using Google. I liked this forum
and continued to remain here from a few years.
I was preparing for a few exams lately and I was unable to follow up. :(

I'm a sort of techie and my work would be linked to Java, System Administration, Networking and Customers :D
I will be interested in the discussions of IT Christian Forum.
I'm also interested in Christian/Gospel Music. I download them often. Do we have a thread here, where we could share all time popular Gospel Music or new releases or recent Award winners/nominees ! I do not want to miss out on any of them.

If God willing, I would like to be here for a long time.

All glory to God,

Regards,
Prashanth

Prashanth,

It's great to see you join us. Blessings to you from Down Under in Brisbane.

Do you have a local IPL cricket team in Hyderabad? What is it called? How is it going this season? Do you follow cricket? I do, but it's off season at the moment. Our test team is not too far from you in Sri Lanka at the moment. But it needs to do much better in the test series, having lost the first test.

Blessings,
Oz

Hi Oz,

There is a Hyderabad Cricket team in IPL. People here, have always been crazy about cricket. I'm not much into watching or playing the game. During the year 2008, our company's boss purchased us tickets to watch a match at a stadium here. Those days the team was called Deccan Chargers and Gilchrist was the captain. That day although Gilchrist was out for a duck, he played well at other places. That season he entertained people in India with sixes and fours.
The main sponsor of the team was Deccan Chronicle. Anyway, Deccan was the old name of Hyderabad kingdom. These days the team is called Sunrisers because of the sponsor SunDirect.
Nice to know, you are interested in Cricket. Here people are so crazy, even during work, they browse live cricket score and shout together(while inside the office at their desks) whenever there's a six or a four.
Recently, I was following Cricket during World cup T20. My Dad was staying with me and he likes to watch Cricket during his retirement. And, when my Dad is here, I will know a few happenings of cricket.

Were/are you into professional cricket? Probably, people there are more crazy, because the team was at the top. If you are following cricket, I'll keep track as well, from now on. I used to ignore the sports columns while reading news. Browsing news will never be the same again! :jumping_smiley22:

Thank You, for the welcome and blessings.

Thanks also to Iforrest, rockytopva and JPPT1974.

prashanthd,

Thanks so much for getting back to me with the information about the Hyderabad IPL team. Adam Gilchrist was one of Australia's greatest wicketkeeper and opening batsmen in all forms of the game. But he really was a slogger in the shorter forms (50 overs and T20). He had a phenomenal eye for seeing the ball and hitting it wherever he wanted. But there were times of demise, like the one you experienced.

My interest in cricket now is as an arm-chair cricketer in front of the TV or PC screen. When I was in my early 20s I played some cricket but I was never anything great. I'm a right-hander when writing, etc., but a left-hand batsman. Since I've had my heart surgeries and am on warfarin, I wouldn't dare play cricket as the hard ball would bruise me all over.

I'm currently watching the Australia vs Sri Lanka test series on espncricinfo description. My wife and I do not have cable TV. Unless it is shown on free-to-air TV, we don't see it.

I don't bother much with the sports' columns of newspapers but get my info from espncricinfo. I do read the Brisbane Times, an online newspaper here in Brisbane that does have a sports section.

I also enjoy rugby league, which gets a fair amount of coverage on free-to-air TV. My wife and I watched a game last night and we'll watch another one tonight.

Blessings, Oz
