@Josho, @Heart2Soul,.. I wanted you guys to see this as something to think as well as the rest of you who hate Halloween or don't celebrate it or something.

How Christians Are Like Pumpkins

1. When we are all covered with dirt (sin) God still picks us out of the patch and cleans us off.

2. Then He removes all of the seeds (sin) inside of it and makes us shiny and new again.

3. After that He carves us a new smiling face. :)

4. Then He places a candle inside of us (Jesus) so we can let it shine for all to see.

This isn't mine btw, I found it somewhere online a few years back and I'm not sure if it's word for word but you get the basic idea. :D @historyb, you might want to see this as well. :)

I used to teach the pumpkin parable every year to the kids at church. I consider it a fall activity, but dont do a normal jackolantern. I don't participate in Halloween. Like jackolanterns were originally made from witches to steal the souls of children who came for candy (candy was to draw them every year). Even today, Halloween is a Wiccan religious holiday. But I understand a lot who participate. I just have personal convictions. I used to dress up and things. Plus, Halloween promotes fear as a fun thing, when really the Bible teaches that love casts out fear. It shouldn't be "fun" to be afraid.

That's alright, you're perfectly entitled to your own opinion and beliefs. :)

I'm not so sure about #3 though.
Sometimes those pumpkin faces can get pretty grim and scary.
And talk about toothless.
Must be all that hidden sugar. :)
