Hi, I'm new here, I was wondering how methodism alters the environment geographically. An obvious answer is Methodist Churches, but are there any other ways? Thank you so much for any help, it is appreciated.

Hello. I am not quite sure what you mean by 'the environment geographically'. Methodism has certainly played a role in forming today what we call Western Civilization. But so did all other branches of Christianity.
Methodism was instrumental in the revivals of the 18th century, in England and America. as were other branches also. As a result many people were saved. Many believe that these revivals, of mostly the lower and middle class people, were why England did not experience a revolution such as France did. But, as I said, many branches of Christianity were involved, not just Methodism.
I don't think this helps your question, but I am unclear as to what you exactly are after.

Thank you so much for your response, Stranger! You did help my question a lot, in addition to that, could you go more in detail about how Methodism has played a role in forming "Western Civilization"? What key elements of Methodism did this and how?
Thank you again!

I'm sorry I replied so late, thank you for replying. If you have the time can you dig it up? Thanks a bunch!!read an interesting piece last night on how Methodists were instrumental in changing the landscape, via the trees they planted wherever they missionized. Of course uprooting native trees is intrinsic to this concept, so i didn't figure you would be too interested, but i can go and dig it up if you like
um, man, that was quite a few days ago now; i can still try, i guess. But i warn you fwiw that i do not view Methodism or Missions, (or Manifest Destiny), as good things, ok. And your prof is looking for the party line there, and my observations would just get you in trouble. Prolly better to just google the relevant terms "methodist, missions, trees" to get your own, more...socially acceptable refs ok. Methodism was also a force in creating neighborhoods, "exclusive" being inferred, by which i don't mean exclusive neighborhoods per se, but the tendency for even "black" neighborhoods to be exclusive, and i'm sure Methodism was instrumental in changing the economic landscape as well, dunno if that is outside your scope though. got some hits @ "methodist correlation to keynesian economics."I'm sorry I replied so late, thank you for replying. If you have the time can you dig it up? Thanks a bunch!!

ha, funny to me how we characterize a "Fall" in Scripture that no one can quote, and we characterize Western Civilization as "contributing to God's work" lol.How Western Civilization has contributed to God's work on earth?
ah, that's true, I guess I was only looking at the bright sides of methodism while I should be looking at the positive and negatives. Thanks for all the replies :)methodist correlation to manifest destiny - Google Search
but let me warn you again to not follow me but go your own way, ok. Methodism surely did some good things too. just only for white ppl, i guess
