How to be saved (born again) and join the family of God!! Romans: Chapter 10 verse 9-10-13
God says==That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be Saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto Salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be Saved..........

----------

Here is an "example prayer" if you have never talked to God..........
Heavenly Father:.........
I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of
my Sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my
heart that Jesus is your Son, And that he died on the
Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have
Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe
that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now
to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and
Savior. I repent of my Sins and will Worship you all the
day's of my Life!. Because your word is truth, I confess
with my mouth that I am Born Again and Cleansed
by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus Name, Amen

How to be Saved(born-again) and Join the Family of God!! Come as you are, but you must be willing to forsake your sins and be conformed into the image of the Son. It's the grace of God that performs such a miracle. Any other way is counterfeit salvation.

Salvation is not by formula. Faith has to actually work...not just in one's own mind. God has to intervene.

You're just repeating what it says in a book.

To become the president of the US you have to be sworn in. Now if you just repeat the words for swearing in a president....does that make you a president?

You have underestimated God to a colossal extent.

But words from the Bible spoken verbatim by an avowed atheistic with the wrong spirit are NOT the Word of God. Ditto the same words spoken by a believer when he is quenching the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the word of God. You are idolizing a book. Of course the truth is spoken about in the bible. But the bible is not truth...Jesus is. The bible only testifies ABOUT the truth.

Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life! IS the bible the life of God to you?

Jesus is the Word (John 1:1,14). He has also magnified His word (the Bible) above all His name (Psalms 138:2).

The kicker though is how do you believe in/from your heart these words of God to salvation as you wrote in your OP? By your own steam without God's presence where you surprise him and he says to you, good job, you are chosen? Or after God first saved you before you were born, and caused you to seek him out by his plan and where he then chose to prepare your receptive heart to believe or have faith in his words as his gift, a part of his grace to you? Where after you immediately received his Son's spirit within you as insurance and sustainment of this faith or belief for future demonstrations of righteous works. All the while during your conversion (process), your free-will temporarily was forced to yield to the will of God. It had no part in your conversion. It has a part after your conversion in its cooperation with the spirit and mind of Christ within you. Yes, you may use your free-will as always although something inside you, inside your heart changed permanently. You still can plan a vacation and make all the choices as before, although it shall now have a major unique influence or bias in your life. You are now a new person, a new spirit of God. Yes, your free-will still wants to rule your heart in this body, and you will not always perform righteous works but you have overcome your carnal free-will, the old self and the world, with Christ's permanent presence. He is now in you. Amen.

Bless you indeed,

Jesus is the Word (John 1:1,14). He has also magnified His word (the Bible) above all His name (Psalms 138:2).
Given that version of Ps 138:2 [KJV] how do we then explain this verse which says His name is the Word of God?

"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." Rev 19:13 [KJV]

Here are some other translations of the same portion of Ps 138:2

"...Porque has hecho magnífico tu nombre, y tu dicho sobre todas las cosas" [Spanish Valera Revised date prior to KJV]
[...Because you have made your name and your word magnificent above all things.] =my translation from the Spanish to English.

"...denn du hast deinen Namen über alles herrlich gemacht durch dein Wort." [German Luther]
[...Because you have made your name greater that all things through your word."] =my translation from the German to English.

A 20th century German version agrees fairly closely with the KJV.

"...for you have exalted above all things your name and your word" [NIV]

"For Thou hast made great Thy saying above all Thy name." Ps 138:2 [Young's Literal]

Presuming the KJV is correct then what should we make of Rev 19:3?

It just goes to show that His word is the Bible too.

What is the point of your post? You have not drawn any conclusions so it is like this verse is it. FYI, on the day of Pentecost when 3,000 men were saved, your prayer was irrelevant and the significant action that was required was baptism by immersion. With a lot of beliefs and faiths in those days, you were not considered a member until you were baptized. It was not exclusive to "The Way."
