How would the most intelligent, wise, and beautiful being ever created have the dumbest idea known in the history of bad ideas?
This is a question that has one boring answer. PRIDE

While I believe this to be the case, the back story is I think dangerous. Dangerous to our future.
Why you might ask? Because this kind of idea puts the dragon in a new light. A light that the younger generation might think cool.

I got to thinking. Why would the most wise and intelligent being succumb to pride?
There would have to be a good reason, or at least a reason that a wise powerful beautiful being would think is worthy of damnation. WORTHY OF DAMNATION?

He was the being of music, light, and was the Angel in charge. In charge of what? The bible doesn't say. It just says the angel that covereth, which to me means he was in charge of everything.

I think the backstory MIGHT go something like this:

Lucifer was given the reigns to creation.
He created beauty, music, freedom, and chaos. His creation was heralded by some, and judged by others.
Ultimately, the lord agreed that his creation was unworthy. It was to be destroyed.
Lucifer vehemently disagreed. Many angels also disagreed. Thus, a fight broke out.

There was a new creation. This creation was of god's hand. Lucifer and his angels were sent to dwell on this new creation. Earth!
And they would be given the keys to this kingdom. They would dwell amongst god's newest and most prized creation. Humans.

Thinking it too simple, Lucifer set out to shape it in his old paradigm. He would prove his thesis to be correct. He would have a place of his own.
Chaos. Chance. A reality where strength, beauty, intelligence, and determination would reign supreme. Sin being the creation of Lucifer; he would ensure that sin was the conerstone of it's reality.
Without pure ugliness, there can be no beauty. Without sadness and despair, there can be no love and happiness.
To Lucifer, love/happiness/despair/sadness/beauty/hate were all his creation.
Before his idea, these things did not exist.
Out of the scorn of the destruction of his creation, and out of the pride of his ability to create a more interesting and exciting reality, he continued his work.

Out of passion, he would make his stand. He would ensure humans made this choice. Do we follow the piper, or do we choose choice and chance? Do we choose monotony, or do we choose beauty and the drudge that comes as baggage?

Do we choose the world of Lucifer? Or, do we choose the world of Jesus?

I, like you, choose the world of Jesus. This world is evil.
I just think that a story like this will eventually become popularized. And when it does, many in their ignorance will make the other choice.

Your thoughts?

It says the covering Cherub not Angel. An angael is a messenger. Lucifer is the son of the morning. Not just one but every son of the morning that is vain in their hearts as described in the scriptures prior to the ones you quoted.

Sounds like that Dante style doctrine of devils(?)...

(1Ti 4:1) But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils,

Really? Barely any bites on this subject?

Oh well. :(

I just feel the breeze coming our way. This subject is going to come up in the near future. It's wierd like that. I think of something a little different, (I know nothing new under the sun), and then it takes hold a little later in the mainstream.

So. Just a hunch. I think the devil/satanism/etc will be popularized in the near future. And when I say popularized, I mean much more than in recent history, via something like my original post.

The atheist movement is gaining ground quickly. This is just another way to debase the Christian argument with the younger generations.

Basically Satan's desire was to be served, not to serve. That attitude is rampant today. Entitlement = what's in it for ME?
