That’s not objectionable. He IS the truth. He IS reality. And as you also said, He is the way to a relationship with God. You don't use the lingo they are used to and I think they might be reacting against that.Christ is not so much a "him" as the overall reality
I kind of understand your not wanting to use the label of Christian. It seems to mean, to a lot of people, doctrinal stances, many of which I do find objectionable because they often Do violence to swaths of scripture in a bid to fully explain One who is mysterious and ineffable to our human way of understanding.
You said something about a “force field?” I think that’s the term you used? It’s the only thing I didn’t really follow you on.
