I love cats

I love cats. I had a sweet gray and white, skinny, sickly little Persian cat. That was over ten years ago. I've had different pets since then and now. My Persian cat died, and I was very sad. Now I have a male ginger tabby. He is sweet and cuddly, but not all the time. Some times he bites and scratches. He is cute and pretty. He gets excited and runs across the house. He likes to go on the back porch, take naps, play with his toys. His name is Puff, he likes to be petted. My Dad had a cat named Puff when he was a little boy, that cat looked a lot like our cat. So this tabby is Puff II. Puff II is a wonderful cat. I like to cuddle and pet him, sometimes he likes to roll over and grab my hand with his claws. I have to be careful and watch out for Puff's claws and teeth. I like cats, they are beautiful animals. I like big cats like lions, tigers, leopards, and panthers. They are beautiful, powerful, and deadly. I like watching pbs nature shows. I love pet cats that like to be petted because of their nice soft fur. Puff has nice soft fur.

I had cats since 1989 when I adopted my first stray kitten. Before I was a dog person but cats are easier for me. All of my cats were rescues from my street and one I rescued when his elderly owner died.

I really understand where you’re coming from. You’ve carried so much love for animals over the years, especially with all the rescues you took in — that kind of steady care leaves a mark. And being older and on your own, the cost and responsibility can feel heavier than it used to. It makes sense that you’re thinking carefully about it.

My cat, Rivka, died a little over two years ago as well, so I know that losing them leaves a quiet space in the home that never fully goes away. What gives me comfort is believing that our pets aren’t lost to us forever. If God can raise humans from the dead, then surely He can restore the gentle creatures He made to walk beside us. Their lives mattered, and their end isn’t the final word.

I have a two‑and‑a‑half‑year‑old cat named Chai. She came to me at eight weeks old through a co‑worker who knew I was looking for an orange tabby kitten and told me her friend’s cat had a male one available. But after I saw photos of the litter, my heart melted when I saw his sister instead. I took her home, only to learn she was dealing with fleas, an upper respiratory infection, and ear mites.

For the first few weeks, I missed out on a lot of physical bonding because of the flea treatments. During that same period, I also broke a finger at work, which made everything even more difficult. But that early stretch of healing together bonded us in a different way—maybe even more closely than if things had gone smoothly.

She’s beautiful, bright, curious, independent, strong‑willed, and loving when she’s in the mood. We “talk” to each other through meows and trills, and she also seems to understand certain human words and actions through associative and inferential reasoning.

She really likes:

• Being a foodie—favorites include Churus, banana chips, and roasted chicken. I keep her around a healthy 10 lbs.
• Cotton bed sheets
• Riding in the car, cat stroller, and backpack
• Bug hunting
• Attacking my hand or arm with scratches, bites, and bunny kicks
• Laser pointers
• Playing with necklace chains
• Chase and hide‑and‑seek
• Looking out the window

I also learned that her coat is a rare pattern called a dilute torbie—not to be confused with a dilute tortie.
