2 Timothy 2:

13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.
Being faith himself, Jesus cannot deny himself and becomes faithless, In this context, Jesus is identified with faith. Jesus is faith and faith is Jesus.

17b Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have departed from the truth.
They were faithless. They did not have faith/Jesus.

They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless,
Nevertheless, God is faithful to himself.

God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

I tend to read this verse with the backdrop being Israel's relationship with God. They were faithful at times, but often fell into infidelity towards God.

God remained faithful to His promise to Abraham throughout, even when Israel failed. When God's People become faithless, God remains faithful to His word of promise and will restore those who repent of their sins, returning to faithful living.

What was God's word of promise to Israel? It was that they would become a nation of God and live in a covenant relationship with Him. Though Israel has fallen time and again, and in particular with respect to Christianity, God's offer still remains steadfast to Israel. If they repent of their sins and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from heaven, and heal them. They can become God's People again.
