Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

If ye continue in the faith does not mean we are saved unto eternal life by our effort to remain in the faith. It is not saying that if we do not continue in the faith, we lose salvation.

These verses are encouraging us to continue in the faith in order to please God, and receive reward at the judgment seat of Christ.

We, by the faith of Christ, have been reconciled. We have peace with God through the blood of His cross.

1 Thessalonians 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

We are to please God in our daily living.

2 Corinthians 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

We will receive reward at the judgment seat.

It is not saying that if we do not continue in the faith, we lose salvation.

God's Word IS actually saying if we do not continue in the faith we will no longer be saved.

Some people claim we can turn away from and reject the Lord and live in sin and still be saved.

God warns those doing this are not saved.

When we believe the gospel we are justified and forgiven......that cant be lost....rewards can be lost
[Col 2:13 KJV] 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

God gives HIs children eternal life and as Jesus said, they will never perish!
Jesus also said no one (not even yourself) can pluck you out of the Fathers or jesus' hand.

According to your thinking, Jesus did not pay the price and was not punished for all of your sins. Can you show me the verse where Jesus is like Ivory soap and only died for 99 44/100% of a persons sins?

That's not what Jesus said about those that are in Him that do not bear fruit.

Jesus specifically said the Father would cut them off

John 15:1,2
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch IN ME that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

When we are born again we are translated in to God's Kingdom (Colossians 1:13) and are IN CHRIST, so Jesus is speaking of those that are IN HIM. If we turn away from the Lord as Christians, we become corrupt and are no longer in right standing with Him, and we must confess and forsake our sin to be back in right standing with Him once again

Those claiming this is not true are saying it's OK to live in sin and the only bad thing that will happen to Christians who live in sin is they'll lose a few rewards in Heaven but their reward for living in sin is not death as God's Word teaches, no they claim the reward for living in sin is to go to Heaven. This teaching came from the devil.

He said the same in the Book of Romans thru Paul:

Romans 11:21,22

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

He said the same thru Peter:

2 Peter 2:20
For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

Romans says we are justified we cant be unjustified

Sadly, that's what people think that do not accept all God's Word teaches.

They like to pick and choose which parts of the Bible they want to believe and consider the rest of the Bible to not be true.

This whole concept relies on God to preserve you in Jesus Christ.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jude
Greeting to the Called
1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James,
To those who are called, [a]sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:
2 Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are one of His sheep, given to you 'sheep status' by the Father to belong to Christ, you have an anointing from the Father to continue in faith to the end of your life.
Apostle John speaks much about these things; here is some of this.

The anointing is from God so that you continue to believe in Christ, not that you will be some kind of spiritual knowledge giant in the sight of heaven and earth, as obviously the sheep disagree about various things.

Please note that those who departed from the faith did not have an anointing from God to know the truth that is Christ and were then antichrists, as in 'he who is not with me is against Me' as Christ said.
Meaning they were not of us, the others.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 John 2
Deceptions of the Last Hour
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[d] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you[e] know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Let Truth Abide in You
24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to [f]deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [g]will abide in Him.
The Children of God
28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that [h]when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
And if you wander, Christ will go and find you and bring you back to Himself, He will not abandon you. His promise is He will be with us always, even to the end of the world, till the Last Day, whatever comes your way.
That is what Christ does, He saves the lost sheep whom God foreknew as His people. Those whom the Father gave to Christ.
That calling was given to us before time began.
1 Peter 2 for some relevance
18 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. 19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for [e]us, leaving [f]us an example, that you should follow His steps:
22 “Who committed no sin,
Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;
23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [g]stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and [h]Overseer of your souls.
2 Timothy 1, on our calling to be the sheep of Christ.
Not Ashamed of the Gospel
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher [c]of the Gentiles. 12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
Christ will go and find you and bring you back to Himself
and be all good if you live in sin and reward you for living in sin with going to Heaven.
This is what is considered acceptable as being the gospel these days as God's warnings are ignored.
Hebrews 10:28-31
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
We know this is speaking to and about Christians when it says "wherewith he was sanctified"
These words are words of warning for sure!
But you are missing the election by God of His people,
The mixed multitude that came out of Egypt with Israel caused much grief.
They were among them but not of Israel. It gets deeper than that too.
It is true that in all churches, among the true, there are false brethren, there are some who are not of the Lord.
They like the mixed multitude among Israel cause trouble, they teach false doctrines, and they do not have the Spirit of God.
They are earthly, sensual, not of the Father, Christ does not know them.
Christ will say to them this here,
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
He NEVER knew them.
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
John 10
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a [b]hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.
Yes it does.
But:
“…Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee…” (Isaiah 47:10, KJV)
No it doesn't.
However, you are certainly free to work to keep yourself saved.
And from the Mount of Olives Jesus said to the gathered crowd, "WORK FOR IT!"
But you are missing the election by God of His people
God elected all that he knew where going to be born
Romans 8:29,30
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Surely you aren't going to claim God is not all knowing that he did know have foreknowledge of each and every person that was going to be born before they were born , are ya?
God tells us in His Word why not all are saved:
2 Corinthians 4:3,4
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
The Lord is very clear in His Word that it's His will for all to be saved:
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
Who will have ALL men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Acts 17:30
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth ALL men every where to repent:
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
And those that get born again and do not depart from iniquity are no longer saved
However, you are certainly free to work to keep yourself saved.
Obeying the Gospel dying to self submitting one's life unto the Lord allowing Him to live in us is not working .
It's actually loving the Lord and living for him, something calvinists wouldn't know anything about because they think God appointed them to be saved and they can live in sin and still be saved.
Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
God did not chose all people in Him as God did not foreknow all people as His people
Romans 8
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
The above in context is in reference to the SAINTS only, v27 comes right before v28 and sets the context for what follows.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Here is more on our calling, God did not call all to belong to Christ.
Romans 1:7
To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul is writing to the church in Rome, he is not writing to other people.
